What do they know?!

Hi all,

Just pondering what information the flight crew have on an individual passenger when they board?

Do they know how regular a customer you are? Are there notes on your file eg meal preferences/drink preferences if you HAVE flown with them before especially in First (and maybe Business)

Whether you paid for your seat or whether it was an upgrade?

Was it paid for with miles?

Just a thought!

Happy Christmas to all - these forums are great and i've found some very useful information from them so thanks to all who contribute!

I saw my profile a couple years back and from memory they can see seat and drinks preferences if its updated on your skywards profile. They would know, roughly, how often you fly based on status but I did not see detailed info on individual flight and class (although I think this can be pulled up by the purser). They cannot tell who has paid cash for their seat or used miles, unless of course it is done onboard.

The one thing that did stand out for me is if youve made an onboard complaint, it is noted. Not sure how long it stays there, but my one colleague I was with is quite the moaner and we had a good laugh about his notes.
dharps likes this.

In the many chats I have had with FAs over 24 years flying Emirates, it's obvious that they know who has paid and who has upgraded or is on an award ticket. At least in F, not sure about Y and J.

I'm not sure where they see this info.

Doesn't booking class tell if on an award or not?

The fare bucket will almost certainly be on the manifest (the printed list of passengers), so they will know who is on an award / upgrade and who has paid for the seat with cash.
There is also the information they have on their tablet, at least for J and F passengers as well as for silver, gold and plat Skywards members. There they have your stated preferences (from your profile) and - as far as I understand - also notes that have been entered by flight attendants on previous flights. Whether or not the fare bucket information is there as well, I dont know.

I definitely did not see any fare bucket information on the tablet. I wasnt shown the manifest, but not sure if every crew member gets one or just the purser.

All of that, and notes made by PUR/CSV entered on previous trips, as well as anything else entered centrally on your profile, as well as flight specific things such as your special meal order for this sector.

Your mileage balance as well can be obtained.

Your usual place in the pecking order by status (incl. the non-skywards things such as VIP/CIP/VVIP).

Connecting/onward information or whether you are O&D.

I'm not sure they do know (certainly for a full reward seat (who bothers with those)) They will know op ups / suspect last min upgrades when they look at the loads and all of a sudden it's gone from 3/14 to 10/14 for example.

Anyone know for sure? Maybe I'll ask on friday

I can recall once flying all the way from Buenos Aires and had a connected flight. On the connected flight they mentioned how was the long trip from Argentina.

Lucky from OMAAT covered this and said they cannot distinguish award from revenue pax, but I trust FT far more than he.

The printed manifest in fact does not have this information, but the tablet will have information as to whether the ticket is revenue or award (or indeed award upgrade - AWUP), to prevent pax trying to double upgrade a miles ticket/upgrade onboard.

Now that seems plausible.

It doesn't seem too reliable... I've done a double upgrade twice in the past.
