Flex and Flex Plus refund policy

I am new to Emirates (at least we haven’t flown with them since 2015), and trying to understand the cancel/refund terms and conditions for revenue tickets, not award tickets.

Looking at business class MXP to JFK in March: the booking page offers Flex and Flex Plus fares, and both say “”No fee” under Refunds. But I cannot find the actual Terms and Conditions applicable to refunds, apart from the “free cancellation within 24 hours of booking”. Under what conditions is voluntary cancellation allowed, and is the refund full or partial?

If I google “Emirates Flex ticket refund terms and conditions” I get answers all over the place, many from third-party sites and many that appear out of date.

Can anyone help? Thank you.

Anyone have a comment? Maybe this is just too dumb a question to answer?

Looking at the below conditions, you'd get a full refund. Only the saver has a EUR600 cancellation fee.

Thank you. But I wonder if that chart presumes some prerequisite conditions, such a cancellation of the flight by the airline, rather than voluntary cancellation by the passenger. Isn’t it unusual for an airline to offer free cancellation with full refund on a revenue booking, with no date limit? Usually a fully refundable ticket is much more expensive.

Yes, Flex and Flex Plus tickets are more expensive than the others. EK has had this policy for a long time. No tricks or gimmicks, in my experience. Pretty straightforward.

Yep I just cancelled a flex ticket this afternoon and am expecting the money back in my account in 2-3 weeks. No questions asked by EK.

Thank you! This is very helpful. It is just so different from most other airlines, I needed clarification.

Just to add, I even got my money back a few days ago so a pretty quick and painless process. Thumbs up to EK for this.

Ok, I am convinced! I am becoming fed up with BA and all their flight cancellations and the covid-related complications of adding a Heathrow transit to our flight back to the USA.

This would be a booking from Milan to JFK, and the Emirates.com booking page says it would be subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Italy website, including those relating to consumer protection. Does this make a difference in the cancellation/refund policy? I am under the impression that the EU rules are actually more protective towards consumers than US law.

I purchased a Flex Plus ticket from an OTA. They are claiming they go by the Emirates terms of the fare rules.

Fare rules state :

CANCELLATIONS ANY TIME CANCELLATIONS PERMITTED FOR CANCEL/REFUND.
A1.BEFORE DEPARTURE / FULLY UNUTILISED TICKETS ... DEDUCT THE APPLICABLE HIGHEST CANCELLATION FEE FROM THE TOTAL OF THE BASE FARE AND CARRIER IMPOSED SURCHARGE - YQ. ... REFUND THE RESIDUAL AMOUNT ALONG WITH THE REFUNDABLE GOVERNMENT TAXES. ... CARRIER IMPOSED SERVICE CHARGE - YR IS NOT REFUNDABLE.

Is this correct on a Flex Plus to have YR be not refundable?

I would have normally bought straight from Emirates but I wanted to purchase in USD to avoid any currency losses as I expected I may need to cancel.
