Apparently Emirates is now saying they won't shut them all down.

They can’t shut them down. I bet the response from governments has been overwhelming to continue to operate (albeit at a lowered capacity).

I was thinking about the safest airline to fly once borders open. Does anyone really want to get on ANY European based airline plane once borders reopen? Chinese carriers are out since this originated in Wuhan, and an airline like SQ has a limited route network and SIN is not centrally located for anyone. The US3 also have a limited route network. So when this ends I was going to take EK and have tickets booked with them.

Once borders open, being that DXB and the UAE has really not been effected by COVID that much, UAE is relatively centrally located for everyone In the world, EK has the planes, crews and capabilities to go anywhere, the route network already established, and long reach to take people everywhere.

Um, except borders won’t really open for tourism until perhaps May at the earliest.

But it’s really go and see what happens. Everyday this situation seems to be getting worse. Technically my flights are canceled as of now. But nobody actually knows. What a crazy situation...
