Emirates going all B777

As per my post on the Coronavirus thread, it appears that EK are moving to an all B777 operation.

All UK flights will be B777 from 25/03/2020.

No more bar. This s**t just got real

I was just about to book LGW - MRU. Not now if its going to be a 777, I thought they were not so bad in J until I flew back to NCL on one LOL. No thanks. Good luck to staff at EK, I hope there does not become to many forced redundancies.

Can anyone actually confirm that Emirates is grounding all of its A380s as the title of this post says?

Yes they are

Furthermore there are rumours all flights may be grounded altogether in 2 weeks from now.

it has, I’m booked to go 8 May - let’s see.

777s are far more fuel efficient and smaller to deal with less demand makes total sense.

I cannot disclose, but this was decided 3 days ago and DYKWIA is spot on.

I don’t mind no A380’s but is EK going to shut down all operations? That’s bad.

they shut down all flights to IAD which was the a380. no explanation when i called the plat desk, the woman tried to blame it on the US closing their borders and i explained to her that every other international flight is still landing at IAD on the 23rd. then she stammered and said she doesn't know why, but no flights to IAD. i got rebooked to boston
