EK Flight delay, need info on potential next steps

EK Flight delay, need info on potential next steps

Just wanted to check with regulars here whether in situation of a technical delay, does EK allow passengers to book hotels themselves and then claim it back or have to let the gate agent do that.

Also, does EK automatically rebook flights and gets updated in app or have to get that done from the gate agent before leaving the airport ?

My current flight has turned back to LGW, the engineers trying to fix the issue, but in case it doesn't happen just trying to arm myself with Emirates process

Everything has been done for me whenever things have gone wrong. However, if you have a preference for particular replacement flights, it may pay to get on the phone as soon as your flight status is known.

generally the airline sort you out (they will have negotiated very low rates with hotels) and whilst they re book automatically I have no idea about updating of apps and the like and if you have a specif need such needing to be somewhere for a certain time or had a connection with another ticket always a good idea to talk with the local rep

Thanks guys, EK did end up rebooking my connecting flight and it did get updated in the app. So all good. Didn't need to use the hotel since they were able to fix the issue on the stand.

Got an email as well about rebooked flight
