Also bare in mind that BA has day flights both ways, whereas on VS one is overnight.

Hope this helps somewhat.
From strictly a comfort perspective I can't disagree more with your post. BA/VS PE product will be better than EK Y, regardless of aircraft. A few things why it would be more comfortable for a woman in her 3rd trimester:

1) 2-seat configuration on the left and right sides. Since she will likely take a window seat for frequent trips to the bathroom, there will only be 1 person next to her to bother her in getting up/down when they need to go to the bathroom. In EK Y there will be 2 people next to her.

2) PE typically has foot-rests and recline further than most Y seats.

3) Typically more food options.

4) Smaller and quieter cabin.

VS and BA Premium Economy are way better that EK economy especially when price equivalent.

EK economy is good, but it is still cattle class and you're piled in like sardines. BA PE feels a bit like domestic first class in the US. Seats are a bit smaller but much better than even the best economy seat....
I totally agree! I usually fly BA in WT+ and the seats are great. Noise cancelling headphones and ... BA got "my flying soul" a number of years ago when they upgraded me to CW on 3 out of 4 sectors between te GCC and YYZ. The upper deck Business class seat on the 747 was the real clincher.

For my 6' 5" body EK seat pitch is not good - ever.

I'd check your travel insurance if they will cover your wife during the 3rd trimester.

Most won't and cut cover at 26 weeks (some are even earlier).

VERY GOOD point. A colleague and his wife flew back from YYZ to the GCC workplace because she was approaching her 3rd trimester and they did not want any hassles flying after she was INTO her 3rd trimester.

No issues with flying a week or 2 earlier for her. Thankfully.
