Another question I'd wonder about is what do they serve as the PDB when it's an outstation?
I know ex-US in F they serve Taittinger or Veuve as PDB, but in J it might be an interesting case since the tax difference between the vintage and NV probably isn't enough to have a different PDB.

Does anyone have experience checking in wine? I do it all the time on domestic AU but I'm considering taking home 1x12. It will be a standalone carton, individually bubble wrapped.

Do it all the time - no problems as long as securely bubblewrapped. I usually put it into a hard case inside a suitcase (with bubble inside the case and sealed plastic outside in case of leakage).
