I'm not convinced this is a good move. I tend to wander over to the lounge, and sit at the window. With the current design, people don't feel uncomfortable sitting down next to me, or vice versa, as you are not looking directly at them.
With a table design, I'd feel I was encroaching on somebody else's space if there was already one person there.
I assume the storage space behind the current seats is being removed to allow for the tables?

Looking at the promotional photos/vid, I can see exactly what you mean re the new window seating layout ; and would agree totally. Maybe it's been designed by a speed dating club ...??
And do we REALLY need the massive TV ....? This introduces an element of noisy city centre pub with Sky Sport blaring out rather than understated luxury. Surely we can happily survive the flight without the need for a TV screen in every single part of the aircraft .....?
More positively, the change of decor & colours does look welcome. But overall I'm not convinced that the revamp is all to the good.

I think the massive TV is simply just marketing-speak for the current flight display - perhaps it will be able to show other things rather than that, but I suspect it will just continue with what it is at the moment.
As for the seating arrangements, all good bars have space for awkward antisocial solo drinkers - an oversight, especially for an airline with the UK as its primary source market with all of their social mores
Then again, if you want to drink alone, there's always your seat!
I suspect the tables will just be used as before - mainly for people to sit at whilst waiting for the lavatories at one hour before landing.

Totally 100% agree with this. I don't much like it.

Specifically on the matter of the TV ...... yes, hopefully you're correct there eternal.
I misread the official EK press release, and took it to mean full sport events rather than merely updates (the latter I actually welcome myself - not least because news/sport updates can often act as a conversation starter amongst 'strangers')
"The lounge also features a 55 inch LCD screen so customers can view the latest flight information, or enjoy live TV broadcasts of the latest news or sports updates."
We shall see.
