Lol, I had no idea I was walking right into that. I have to admit that the "6 Piece Chicken McNugget and 2006 Dom" pairing was quite good. My vegan FA was not at all impressed
I think the FA secretly was sad at having to have yet another crew meal: we complain about menus not changing often but those menu choices last a year...! :D |
How often do outstations change their menus anyway? The menu for ex-ICN flights has been alternating between the same menus for odd and even-numbered months for the past 2 years now....

If you're a regular on the route and Platinum, send in your emails and eventually they might get round to it (budget with local catering notwithstanding!) |
I’ve moaned about the catering before but I’m hoping for something decent on the SYD-CHC flight on 2Nov....I am hoping it’s not more curry !
I would settle for 4 piece boneless chicken or some cheese twists at the bar. |

Something about the batter and the acidity of the Dom works very well.

I would settle for 4 piece boneless chicken or some cheese twists at the bar. However to make up for this on the return yesterday we had the usual lamb dish, then chicken curry. Nobody has any imagination at Emirates catering, just seem to photocopy the same menu for all routes. |
Just a follow-up, another flight and another hot meal on the left. Didn't pay attention on last night's EK150 ex AMS but this is on EK778 to CPT right now.
{Trying for 20mins to upload image via onboard WiFi - no luck yet} I've also found a good description of EK food: it's like your mom's food and she keeps trying variations in the recipe. Creole chicken was both familiar and different to any previous chicken dish. I think they have 4 types of chicken with 7 types of sauce and 3 types of starch and 4 types of veg and rotate them. This was a first with rice and the coconut milk made it taste like a Thai curry. |

Oops that was a breakfast flight, as I had just fallen off the DFW-SYD a third breakfast was not required.

It was also, on the left - so I'm going to put it down to EK FC specification photo being changed. |

There is some imagination there - after all, EK FC also do the F lounge catering and that menu is quite interesting (have the desserts!), but menus are generally dictated by one guy, and the primary consideration is of course, cost - both raw ingredients and production efficiency.
I have to sheepishly admit I had an EK Y meal for the first time in a while the other day...and it wasn't a SPML. I ask your forgiveness to start from 2018... It was also, on the left - so I'm going to put it down to EK FC specification photo being changed. |
Yet another new [F?] chocolates - Canonica
Not seen these before - Canonica, Artisan Chocolatier, Genève
|
I really liked these...as much or more than Godiva. I thought the hazel chocolate one was delicious!
