Seat Selection

Hi

I have the choice of either seat 17B or 25E. Unfortunately there are no window seats available.

I am wondering which of these two seats to go for and any opinions and experiences gratefully received

Thanks

In 25E you have a bar almost directly behind you, but you have a little more privacy from aisle. If you'll want to sleep the bar may annoy you. You'll also have the joy of watching almost the entire cabin eat before you.

In 17B it'll be quieter but you are a little bit more on show as the mini bar etc is by the window.

I prefer to avoid the middle seats when travelling alone, but others may feel differently. I'd go for 17B.

Yes after sitting in an E seat the last time we were on an A380, I'd avoid it like the plague and you're at the window side too with a B seat.

I read that the 'E' seats are a lot longer and there is no danger of being hit by the passing trolley

There are no trolleys in j so no problem.

I'd go 17b and keep checking for an a or k seat

I was actually just in 25E yesterday, so I will give you a contrary opinion.

Morning flight ex-DXB, 25F empty, but cabin around 65/76. Earplugs to block out sound from 50% full mini cabin - no disturbance from the bar.

With regards to food here's a pro-tip: sleep through the meal service, then wake up at the end of it and request food and it comes in 5 minutes and you have quasi dine-on-demand.

I prefer the table area blocking the aisle for more privacy, therefore only go for A,E,F or K seats (and get the longer bed space in flat mode). B,D,G, J seats are open onto the aisle.

Note this was on the new style A380s - I wouldn't do this if F was occupied.

I guess you'll fly on 77W.
Depends on your taste. But definitively not middle seat (E).
If you prefer window, avoid row 7 as one window is missing.
Best is 6A/K, as they are located in the forward small cabin, and you have lots of legroom.
But they cannot be booked online. They are released at check-in. Ask your agent to put as your preference.

I hate the basinet seats - row 7 is the best despite the missing window which has never been an issue for me.

7J without a doubt.

Avoid rows 6 and 8 as the tv is poorly positioned. Avoid rows 9 and 10 as they're in the larger cabin. Avoid row 11 as it's next to Y cabin. Only leaves row 7.

The bulkhead TV on 77W (renovated) are big and fixed on the panel.
They are no more of stored type (those ones don't let you watch movies during take-off and landing )
By "poorly positioned", you probably mean that you cannot adjust it ? It is true that it is not ideal when you are on bed position.

Anyway, usually I book 7A on 777 and try to get 6A at the airport. One main reason : I can disembark faster.

Odd row middle seats (EF) are confined and dark. It's suited for couples wishing to travel together.
I definitively prefer 17B over 25E, all the more the rear of a plane is always more noisy and shaky than the front.

Or evens from 14 to 20.

Row 13 is missing which flips it, and then Row 22 flips it back to odd numbers again.

Unless your on a 2 class version, but now it's getting too complicated so better just to say E and F seats.
