They aren't all that bad. I typically go for row 9.

Quote: Or evens from 14 to 20.

Row 13 is missing which flips it, and then Row 22 flips it back to odd numbers again.

Unless your on a 2 class version, but now it's getting too complicated so better just to say E and F seats.
You are right. It's becoming complicated

Anyway, if I have the choice between center E/F and aisle E/F, I'll definitively go for aisle when travelling solo.

The idea of sleeping inches from a complete stranger ... yerk ... It depends on your neighbor though ... (I'm not very lucky on this )

Also OP, you can look on Google Street View in the interior of the A380 J cabin which should help you make your decision:

Well since this flight departs at 1.35 and lands at 8.30 pm London time in Dubai, I don't suppose that sleeping will be that high on the agenda.

One of the great things about Emirates is the ICE system so there is plent to keep one occupied during the course of the flight.

So I have gone for 17B but guess I will spend a fair amount of time in the bar at the back anyway

Thanks for the input everybody - and hey, you never know maybe a window seat will be a no show

Cash or miles? I would also recommend ex-DXB.

Quote: Cash and miles
From a strictly miles maximising perspective I think that would depend entirely on the way you earned the miles and the upgrade cost, vis-a-vis the cheapest F availability you can find for your travel dates minus your J class cost

On the other hand, EK miles expire strictly after 3 years and can't really be transferred out so that might tip your decision...

For me it would depend on the cash charges as well - I find the best value is upgrading a J saver on a space available basis when F is nearly full as EK don't charge surcharges on upgrades but have extortionate redemption surcharges.

Well that's my worry tbh. Do I lose my miles after three years even though I continue to fly with Emirates maybe 3 or 4 times per annum

Yes - the miles expire strictly on a rolling one month basis 3 years after they are earned. You can however use them for upgrades or redemptions for travel a year after the expiry date, but you'll need to pull the trigger on the redemptions etc. before expiry (and if you then cancel, they are gone forever).

Someone will upgrade to f from an a or k seat so you'll get one but no matter if you'll be at the Bar!

Given a J flex is 1500 EUR each way and a F flex is 1700 EUR for travel next week, your J ticket initially should have been very cheap to make it worthwhile, imho...

A380 bulkhead
Flying dfw to Dubai. Currently have row 82 bulkhead. I am 6'8" tall, so am long legged. Next to bassinet seat.
What can I expect from this experience?
Regarding room, bumping due to bassinet, ife, power charging, etc.
First long distance flight, first a380,
Thanks for any advice, information.
