Emirates first class special meals
Wife and I are splurging and will be on the EK dxb-jfk a380 in a few months and are looking forward to it! She is a vegetarian and I'm new to EK. For most other airlines (in business class) there is usually a veg option like pasta. Last time we travelled on klm, we requested veg meal, but it was kinda nasty and she would have preferred to have eaten the veg option on the menu, but felt bad that they "went through the trouble to make it for her", so she ate it. Since I cant get menu for the flight ahead of time, I wanted to see if others had thought? She eats cheese and milk and eggs, just not meat, fish or chicken. If we order a veg meal, but the inflight options look better, can she turn away her meal and ask for what's on the menu--or is that frowned upon? Or will there always be a veg option on EK first class and I don't have to worry?
Thanks for any input!

F on ULH is a la carte. It includes around 30 meal options (from appetizers to side dishes to dessert), and so there are veg options. You could see a menu of the month online. I'm sure others can get that link here.
If she's very strict veg or has a particular requirement then a special meal can be request. They primarily load a special appetizer/main that fits that requirement.

The menu above is for this month and gives a good indication of choices.
The one for your specific flight will be available on the month of your flight. Follow the "See What's on your Flight" button on the front page of the EK website.
I don't know if there's a way to see what the special Veg option choice is ahead of time.

If you go to the website and "What's on my flight" on the right hand side, input your flight details for menus and wine lists etc.
In F I wouldn't worry - order the special meal, eat the main menu. Not a problem. EK generally over-cater and don't run out of meals.

Piggybacking here instead of starting a new thread.... this is probably a silly question, but a business class special meal is different to (better than) the economy version, right? I've ordered a gluten free meal, but don't want to miss out on the "business class quality"

Just check the Emirates Website during the month of your travel and the menu will be up. Here is the link to the menu on EK201 for January in FCL

Here is the link to find the menu on all flights:

Hope this helps.

Nevertheless, if you are a heavy flyer, be warned that SPML doesn't change often.
