Seeing Paradis on my upcoming 777 EK761 flight. Is this right? Last time I flew to JNB it was definitely Prive. Not that I have yet tried either, always seem to get a bit "lost" in the reds...

VIP/iO pressure brought the Paradis back rather swiftly after its brief discontinuation :D

Marvellous, thanks! I'll have to concoct a plan to ensure a glass or two ;)

I had this last month on 420, I found it a bit too harsh for my liking, it took me several hours to get through it!!

Generally, the Prive is kept in the F bar by the stairs. If you order a cognac from a F/A, they usually take it from the kitchen bar so you'll end up with the cheaper Hennesy. If you want Paradis, ASK for it or help yourself

TBH I don't understand the fascination with Cognac and this Paradis. I tried it on my last flight. Call me whatever you like, it reminded me of Betadine gargle and mouthwash.

I don't believe for a second that they brought it back due to complaints from I/Os or VIPs. The only people that make a big deal about Paradis are usually passengers on upgrades, free tkts, etc. I've had many F/As tell me the same thing. If you can afford a full F tkt, then stuff like Paradis, etc is meaningless on a plane. I'm just as happy with a nice XO on SQ as I am with Paradis on EK

Well I do usually pay for my F tickets but, since I rarely drink on the ground, trying a higher-end cognac or discovering a pleasant wine does add a frisson to travel proceedings. In no way essential but always gratefully imbibed ;)

Do they still have Prive in F on the 380? I've just returned to MAN from CHC and on the CHC-DXB flight (777) there was only Prive (as I would have expected). On the 380 back to MAN only Paradis was listed in the menu, so just wondering if they've dispensed with the Prive. Not complaining, you understand!

These days I've only seen Paradis at the first class bar on the 380. The galley has the Prive. Seems it's all about what aircraft your on. This is only my observation

My experience has been the same as Chinatrader's. And, like someone else who posted, I already know what I like to drink (it's often a nice 21 year old single malt or a premium Kentucky Bourbon - 'neat' naturally) and that's what I'll typically order on a flight. Paradis is a nice cognac (actually still have 3/4 of a bottle in the liquor cabinet after a year or so), but it isn't something that one would lust over - at least in my humble opinion. Sorry to burst bubbles!

ICN-DXB A380 - yes, both
DXB-DFW 777 Prive only - was told only A380s have Paradis now...

DXB-MRU-DXB RT - yes, both

Just flew AKL-SYD in F and was introduced to Paradis. Knew nothing about it and only asked what kind of digestif they had. Attendant opened a bottle and said "this is really special and expensive." Unbelievable character. Then I googled it upon landing.

No wonder it's more expensive than the usual swill I drink. LOL

Well, perhaps not quite 'meaningless' - but I'm pretty sure that the general thrust of your comments here is accurate.

I tend to have similar thoughts about folk who go to great lengths to turn up at airports a week before their flight to 'maximise the lounge experience' (whatever that may involve ... :D)

those are my favorite posts :D:D. Not to be a snob but if u can't afford a cheap hotel room and have to sleep in a lounge, first class may not be what one should be striving for. I guess my priorities are different. I'd rather have a "bed" experience then a lounge "experience":confused: Don't get me wrong, no one enjoys a nice lounge as much as me when there is a long connection or delay but the thought of getting to the airport early just to use a lounge???? Don't get it. (Well, there is that free food and champagne-something I could never find in the store :)
