Quickie Fare Question

If I were to get the following fare, would there be a complimentary hotel provided by the airline for the 19 hours im transiting through?

Thank you in advance.

I would imagine the answer is no - simply because it's possible to begin your proposed trip by using the alternative option of EK28, which would then give a very convenient connection time of less than 3 hours before the onward sector.

In fairness to EK, the idea behind providing comp hotel accom is to encourage pax to choose them over a competitor in cases where an EK routing incurs (unavoidably) lengthy DXB transits.

Many thanks.

Issue is that EK28 isnt available, its a busy period. As it happens, I just lost this flight too.

Grrrrr.

Thanks for the help though.

I don't think that is the case. I am departing on EK509 and then have a 9 hour layover to connect to EK237; I could have departed on EK501 later yet I am still eligible for Dubai Connect and have booked it.

My sense would be yes, since there is no earlier flight departing to Islamabad after you land and you are taking the earliest possible departure. There used to be a fare limit of $1,100 IIRC below which you were not eligible for Dubai connect, which you are above but that could have changed recently.

Best would be to call EK and confirm rather than regret after booking the fare.

Ok, well based on jackiedada's first-hand experience, it would seem this is not necessarily a lost cause for Scotty.

Plus, the fact that EK28 had no space could well be a key factor.

Will be interested to hear the eventual 'ruling' by EK.

Out of curiosity:

Whats more up to date when booking tickets - the Emirates telephone sales line OR the website? Is the website bang on real-time?

IME, the website is pretty much up to date and also the place where you can get better fares. What the website can't do however, and what the call center or your travel agent can, is to 'waitlist' you in case the flight is full, and request Dubai to release inventory.

jackiedada's post confirms the Ts and Cs published by Emirates. It has been debated before that your initial interpretation makes more sense, but it's not how the rules are written.

Space would only be an issue if EK28 was the second flight and was also full in First and Business. In that case, Dubai Connect applies the timing as if the flight did not exist.

OP. Book using Multiple Destinations option and separate the GLA-DXB and DXB-ISB legs. You'll then be able to select the flights you want (I just tried it) and it's also currently showing about 150 cheaper than the option you posted.
