I have heard that deliveries commencing next year will be the higher MTOW 380s. A lot later than I previously had expected.

One other potential problem - sitting in row 6 will be a major pain if that social area between rows 5 and 6 gets used actively.

Weren't there some concerns if the A380 can actually make that far on a full load? Anyway, great to have the A380 servicing LAX.

Well actually the 3 380s received so far have not been allocated any routes, since they have only replaced existing airplanes on existing routes in order to allow the wing fix to occur on 3 other 380s. So looking at the numbers this would actually mean that there are 2 380s left that haven't been assigned anything by January 1st. My guess is that these 2 380s will be 380s out for the wing fix. Note that my number of 9 380s only reflected what was to be delivered in 2013, not he FY2013, so there are several more deliveries in the first few months of 2014 that will bring additional uplift to the fleet.

The deliveries I cannot wait for are the 350s. To get rid of those appalling 330/340s. Good to see the 350 is flying today. Hope 2015 becomes real.
Any idea why the 380 was taken off JNB?

This is incorrect, A6-EEI is configured with a 14F/76J/427Y configuration. It does not have the crew rest area.
