Went to the Everett factory a couple of days ago. Watched one EK 777 take off, saw one on the line and one in the parking area.
When chatting to the tour guide he mentioned that there always seems to be an EK 777 on the line.

If ever in SEA the tour is well worth doing.

It has been a while, but a new B77W has rolled out at PAE. Line number 1099 will be A6-ENJ and had its first flight yesterday.

Shouldn't A380 A6-EEF have been delivered by now?

I believe so. Does anyone know where this airplane is? Perhaps it is having its wing fix done prior to delivery? Very interested to find out whether this is one of the airplanes with the wing twist.

On a side note I found the configuration of the HD A380 EK has on plan, it still surprises me they intend to put a lot of J seats on it.

I noticed this aircraft on Flightradar the other night it had taken off from finkenwerder and went and did some flying to the east and then returned back there again after a few hours.

And on another note the wing fix issue has been around for quite a while now why would the aircraft be having its wings fixed now, surely the fix would be put in during the building phase??

Apparently A6-EEF has had its customer acceptance flight. It should be delivered at the beginning of May.

No mention of the 318 which was a gift from Airbus.

Charter or EK staff?

No, it hasn't been delivered. It's scheduled for delivery on 03MAY13, arriving in Dubai the following morning. Perhaps the original poster is aware of the cabin details or is in Hamburg, but it definitely hasn't been delivered yet.

I have to agree with this one. It is an interesting tour, specially if you're someone in manufacturing. They have 3 different assembly processes (747, 777 and 787) with the 777 line always on the move! Got lucky when I went there a little over a year ago, the group I was in was merely half a dozen, got to spend more time with the tour guide getting questions answered.

I was told by an EK friend that it would be used for executive charter - I liked the sound of the proposed rates but I think that they were too good to be true and despite saying I would like to hear more from whoever handles it because I would like to charter it for a trip to Kiev from Dubai I have have heard nothing. Will probably end up as part of the Royal Family's fleet of jets I suspect on some kind of "peppercorn rent" deal.
