Global Double Miles Summer 2012
Here is what happened:
I booked the original ticket during June. I flew the first segment in early July and was due to continue onwards to Australian on 29 July.
On 24 July I decided to fly to SYD instead of MEL so rang up Emirates in Switzerland (was there at the time) who re-issued the ticket accordingly.
Now EK is refusing to credit the promotion miles for the DXB-SYD segment because they're claiming the ticket was re-issued outside the promotion period (when in fact the flight that I took remained within the promotion period).
There is nothing in their terms and conditions that excludes such scenario so I am surprised at their cheap'ish interpretation of this.
What do you think?

Kindly be advised as per the terms and conditions of Double Bonus Miles promotion, Flex tickets must be issued between 28 May to 10 July 2012. However, upon checking your booking details we have found that the flight were originally booked on 17th June 2012 and was exchanged to a new ticket number: 176XXXXXXXXX which was issued on 24 July 2012. Hence, the bonus miles are not applicable as the ticket was not reissued between the promotional period.
