How Accommodating is EK required to be?

How Accommodating is EK required to be?
I am asking so that I can be informed when I call back.
Basic facts:
O class ticket LHR-DXB EK030 for Feb 5th. Flight cancelled.
Called to rebook, was told earliest date is Feb 7th. Took the seat.
I checked on KVS and I saw 1 O class seat for EK 030 on Feb 6th and 1 J/C/I (O=0) class seat for EK 008.
I asked to be rebooked on EK 008 and was told to pound sand because I was in O class and no O seats were available.
I then accepted EK 030 and tried to book the limo (to change it from tomorrow's EK030 for which I had it confirmed) and was told to, again, pound sand because it is within 48 hours.
Questions: Is EK obliged to put me on EK008 (Showing J1 C1 I1 O0) or no?
Have I lost the limo or is it worth calling back and pleading my case?
I tried to keep emotions out of this post and out of my phone conversation with EK as I didn't really have time to argue.
I'm not sure if EU regulations apply for weather(?)

EU regulations would apply ( other than the compensation payouts)
Since you have accepted the new flight ( quote "earliest date is Feb 7th. Took the seat" ), to my knowledge, they are not required to keep re-accommodating as part of the one event. If there had been availability on an earlier flight in business class when you spoke to them then you would have been entitled to be rebooked on it despite no O class.
Note: this isnt directly from the regs but a wikipedia description which covers this bit accurately I believe

As to the limo, can't say much. It's an ancillary ground service, so it's all contractual & local rules.

When I was told about the cancellation the options given were the new flight on 7th Feb or a refund. I wasn't by a computer so I was unable to check availability.
IMHO when an airline has 5 x daily flights (+3 from LGW) and only 2 of 5 are cancelled on a single day, being delayed 24 hours (for a very short trip) is a pretty bad thing. Especially when business class seats are available on flights before the one I was rebooked on.

I'm confused. As I read this, your EK 030 in O on 2/5 was cancelled due to WX. You were originally rebooked on 2/7, but found O space on the same flight on 2/6. Basically, you wind up flying in the same class, but one day late due to WX. Not sure that's a bad thing.
As to the limo, can't say much. It's an ancillary ground service, so it's all contractual & local rules.

Was able to get limo re-instated after calling EK back. ^
