Adding an infant to an upgraded ticket

I am looking to upgrade a friend from Y-J using miles. Soon she gives birth to her first child and will therefore be adding an infant to her ticket. Adding an infant to an economy ticket costs around Ł60, adding on a J ticket is around Ł180 (those are figures from a sample search on emirates.com)

So my questions are:

1. If I upgrade her after adding the infant to Y will they ask for any extra miles for the infant?
2. If I upgrade her to J before adding the infant will they charge the Y charge or J charge for adding an infant at a later date?

If anyone has done this in the past, any info would be much appreciated

From my understanding of the Terms and Conditions of the Skywards program, you would need to first add the infant to the booking and subsequently upgrade the mum and infant together (infant at 10% of the miles).

The infant cannot be booked on a reward seat in J. I suppose one could book the infant in paid J, but they likely won't allow this.

So for 1, yea, it'll be 10% miles for the infant. For 2, I'm not sure whether they'll insist on canceling the upgrade before adding the infant, or whether they'll just do it at the J charge. It's worth calling them to ask.

I think it can be done as paid ticket.
I was able to do so for someone who had a special complimentary ticket, so all we had to do is book and pay for an infant (with another adult which was done online, then EK simply moved the infant to the other 'free' booking).

I have recently purchased two different tickets in fully paid J class for my 6 month old and simply classify her as a child. In order to do so and enroll her in Skysurfers I made a "mistake" with her age and added two years to her dob (one cannot enroll in Skysurfers until the age of two years - presumably to avoid any question of people trying to claim miles for infant tickets).
