When does EK takeover a TA booking?

Title says it all really...

Have a ticket booked via Expedia.com and need to change first leg to earlier flight but same day (3pm instead of the 6pm booked). After 40 min with Expedia tying to change it and then given some ridicluous amount for a fare difference, I wonder at what point it becomes EKs to change?

There is plenty of Avail per Expertflyer so dont think that will be an issue.

I booked a KHI-DXB-YYZ-DXB-KHI ticket with expedia (passenger didn't have cc so couldn't use EK site) and needed to change KHI-DXB-YYZ before departure. Didn't even bother calling expedia as they are horrendous at changing bookings.

I called EK with a whole story prepared about how expedia was difficult but didn't need to use it. I told EK I wanted to change my flight and it was done within 1 minute. ^

As soon as the ticket is issued, it can be changed by Emirates PROVIDED it is issued on 176 stock and is not a BT/IT or otherwise restricted fare. In those cases, you will be kicked back to the issuing agency.

Just in case no body knows what a BT/IT fare is ... its a negotiated fare or group/tour fare.

Even if it is a group fare that EK can't officially touch, they can get you on an earlier flight if you speak to someone who knows the system.
Through a strange course of events, I ended up at the airport 18 hours before my flight. The girl at the EK desk said she could do nothing as it was through a travel agent. The girl at another desk was great and got me on the next flight - I think she checked me in (18hours ahead) then did a Transfer to the current flight.

If you buy a ticket from Expedia, does it usually provide a ticket number beginning with 176? Has anyone had trouble getting Skywards miles when booking through Expedia? I checked on a couple of fares on there and saw that they are Skywards Flex, so I am assuming full miles apply. Has anyone booked on Expedia and then accessed their booking through MMB?

This might be a way to get around the problem with the Emirates website and Canadian credit cards.

What's the problem with Canadian credit cards? I've used my RBC Avion with Emirates many times (except for flights to/from Ghana which are blocked from online payment through whatever means).

Both of my cards -- TD Visa and AMEX -- have not worked. With TD Visa, it fails to load the verified by Visa page, telling me instead that they were not able to process the payment. The EK call centre claimed that Visa declined the payment; Visa said no request came through from EK.

I had a booking with Expedia (UK) for earlier this year. I've just looked at the confirmation and also a schedule change email but neither show an EK ticket number. There may have been one but I can't see it on these messages.
There was a PNR number on the first email from Expedia that allowed me to access the booking on EK's website and miles were awarded with no issues.

If all flights are on EK then yes, 100% (and also if most segments are on EK with interline connections such as BOM-DXB-JFK on EK and JFK-BOS on AA).

Expedia.com's receipt will show you the EK ticket number as well an EK PNR that you can use to access MMB.

Cheers,
