The showers at T1 are pretty good compared to the T3 lounges - better water pressure and less waiting time.

The T1 lounge (and all the other EK lounges) have complimentary newspapers, magazines, business centers, hot and cold food options, coffee machines, alcohol (including champagne), showers, smoking areas, TVs, Skywards help desks.

I missed the "T1" bit, which I assume means when arriving and departing from T3, there is no lounge access as an EK Silver.

That is correct no free lounge access in T3. However T1 is connected to T3 airside so you can walk to the T1 Emirates Lounge for which Silver members have access. It is a good 10-15 minute walk.

Emirates first class lounge at Dubai terminal 3 - One of the big reasons I buy first class to BKK now. I really got tired of the business lounge (don't get me started). The A380 suite isn't bad either.
The lounge at Bangkok is nice too. It's small, cozy, usually not full and not far from the smoking room. The lounge in Manila is not bad but I hate that airport. One of the main reasons I don't fly there much anymore.

Seeing as no-one has posted this one yet....
LAD (Luanda) - Emirates use the TAAG lounge which though vastly improved from the old one, is still not great. There is wi-fi, sometimes, but food options are poor. Generally limited to wee sandwiches made from stale bread wrapped in clingfilm or tiny biscuits. Drinks selection ok with local beer, soft drinks and coffee readily available. The heavier stuff must be requested from the grouchy woman behind the bar. Make sure you get an invite to the lounge when you check in or you don't get in! Even with a business class boarding pass. Staff generally speak Portuguese and Portuguese only and there is no smoking (though that area isn't far from the lounge). But hey, at least the power / ac works most of the time now! 3/10.

No you can only use the EK Lounge if you are departing in J. Can not use the lounge awaiting an economy transfer unless you have status with EK.

Amman
AMM
Emirates use the "Crown Lounge" in Amman airport. It is a shared lounge with Royal Jordanian and pretty much every other airline that flies into AMM. It is spacious with a bar, buffet area with hot snacks, salad, cakes and tea/coffee etc.
You get a great panoramic view of the runway with roof to floor windows. There are individual TV booth units which u can sit in and watch whatever you want using headphone, a kind of on the ground IFE.
There are hotel like bedrooms and showers for a fee; around USD 50-70 for the rooms and USD15 for the showers.
Finally a smoking room and a games room with a pool table

It is the best non-EK lounge in the network. I have always skipped over it and just arrived late and gone straight to the gate given my experience with lounges on ME routes but boy was I surprised.
