In short, no. Just FYI, silver members can only use the dedicated Silver lounge at DXB which is currently under renovation and due to open sometime early 2013. The rest of the lounges on the EK network are not available to Silver members if traveling in Y on EK and certainly not if traveling on non-EK metal.

DXB

Gosh reading this I think I already know the answer and not the one I wanted but if we are traveling as a family of FOUR with two adults and two (reasonably aged and very well behaved not that it's relevant!) children and the adults are in F and the kids are in J, would we ALL be able to use the F lounge?

Related question - arriving in F, departing in whY - access?

Yes, if the two F pax are Skywards Gold. No, if not. And maybe, if you ask nicely to the lounge dragon.

None. J lounge, if pax are Skywards Gold.

Just to stir up a conversation, why would you put your kids in a lower class than you are travelling in?

Fair question Basically availability and points cost. We have done it in the past where Mom/daughter do F and Father/son do J. This time I think the kids are old enough to go on there own in J. EK J is hardly slumming it

DXB FCL

(Obligatory 'I hope I picked the correct thread for this and sorry if I didn't' disclaimer)

I'm looking at SIN-DXB-LHR on EK F and everyone says that the DXB first lounge is amazing. Is there a maximum time you're allowed to stay in the lounge if your flight isn't soon? Is it worth doing a 15 hour stopover (rather than 7) to check things out?

Possibly less lounge-related: for sleeping, are there any noteworthy options beyond the airside hotel? Reviews I've read of the lounge (eg Lucky's, SFO777's, and Europeanexplorer's) didn't really mention anything beyond a quiet room. Or is that sufficient?

You can stay as long as you like. Not sure you would need more than 7 hours to do that. 15 would be pushing it for me

Can we update this thread to state that CMB now has it's very own beautiful Emirates Lounge so you don't have to use the third party? Once in the departure lounge head for the long aero bridge. Walk past the entrance as if going to Immigration for arrivals. You'll see signs but its up in a lift one story and to the right once you coming out the lift. I posted photos of it when I went last year. I'll post more when I return in March.

Narita Lounge.

Emirates use the American Airlines lounge at Narita. I've been using it on economy tickets with gold membership. It's usually been near empty in the evenings before the EK flight leaves. All the usual facilities but substantial snacks rather than food.

I'm taking my first flight as an Emirates Silver in a few days. I just noticed emirates.com says Silvers have "Access to all Emirates Business Class Lounges in Dubai"
http://www.emirates.com/english/Skyw...hip-tiers.aspx
Is this due to the lounge in T1 being closed for renovation? If so that would mean I have a choice between the lounge in T3 and... oh, wait, that's it. Or are there any other options?

Besides, is there a way to find out which terminal in DXB my flights arrive and depart? I'm flying DME-DXB-MRU and back.
Thanks in advance

All EK flights arrive and depart from Terminal 3, you could be at either concourse A, B or C though. As a Silver you can now use any of the 3 lounges in concourses A, B or C depending on which gate you are departing from.

Recently transited through the AA Lounge at Narita. New Modern lounge, lot so seating space, decent collection of Magazines and News papers. Food and drink choices are limited (mostly snacks as Tokyobuta said). In all, a lot better than a lot of other non-EK lounges on the EK network

Flying out of BKK in F in a couple of days. Emirates.com says that the BKK lounge is temporarily closed. I can't seem to find any info on what is being used in its place for the time being.
