Nothing personal here but the exact same post regarding the toe did cross my mind on reading the OP's rant.

Anyways since the welcome for the OP has been pretty warm so I guess we won't be hearing much from the OP again if not anything.

However I have never understood why don't we give people a chance and I am sure that they will learn how to contribute to this forum in a proper and correct manner making this forum even more meaningful & a much richer resource of information.

The EK forum seems to have a higher percentage of '1 post Charlies' than the other forums that I go on (BA/CO).

Even if English isn't his first language, then why bother registering on an English language website to post a one paragraph rant?

Cheers,
Rick

I would prefer to see a "rant" from time to time instead of having nothing at all. I do feel that some of the members her are harsh with some of the posts. Intolerance with "weak" posts is really unacceptable, to me at least.

For the OP, I would welcome you from my side any time. Yes I do feel some EK flights have poor services. EK flight attendants used to be some of the best around the world. Lately, I feel EK has turned its back on quality and concentrated on quantiity.

P.S. Never fly to/from LHR unless u r desperate.

Have to agree with many posts, if you make a complaint whether to EK or this board about quality of service it needs to be more detailed and constructive if you want to be taken seriously.

Welcome to FlyerTalk.

OP is entitled to their opinion. I have travelled regularly since 1969. Thousands and thousands of flights. I cannot even count the nnumber of airlines that I have travelled. Hundreds and hundreds of business and first class trips.

My business class trip on Emirates in 2009 was by far my worst business class trip ever. It was a 777, and when I looked back in coach, at 10 across I though it was a sardine can.

Additional detail from OP would be great.

That's interesting, I've flown in 777s on various airlines in Economy over the last couple of years since moving to Dubai.

The EK economy certain didn't feel any more cramped than any of the others, BA was by far the worst for that.

As far as service goes, they are behind Singapore in that respect for sure but certainly not the worst, BA again take the award for that.

In summary, yes I don't care much for BA, AF aren't up to much either.

In overall terms I'd probably put the airlines in 3 groups.

1) Singapore
2) EK, Etihad and Qatar
3) BA, AF and KLM although KLM were better than the other 2.

Almost all of the flights were on 777s.

Rant?

The OP had an experience that did not live up to expectations. Rant? No, just an observation. Whether this was his first airline trip or millionth, to denigrate him because he has not flown as many times as other "elite" flyers, shows some real "class".

^

What a horrible way to react to this poster. No wonder if they never post anything again. Just hope the English standards of those who ridiculed him/her are as perfect as they thought those of the OP should be.

^You are spot on. Its unfortunate that we have some sad people here who do tend to take out their sadness on new poster's. Let's hope that the OP does not get shoooed away but returns and becomes an active member of this community.

I agree with you on everything except your last sentence.

No point holding everyone to your own standards. Everyone should post what they want within the FT T&C.

Can't comment on LHR ground staff, but my three years of over 25k miles a year (over 60k last year) has me leaning heavily in favor of the airline. The in-flight service has been mixed, but well above expectation set from experiences on other airlines.
