Another interesting aspect - sending the pilots to AMS for simulator training. Does LY not have its own sim? Their biggest fleet.

Yes. 2 hrs and 30 minutes. They can allowed go overflew KSA airspace. They already relaxed the restrictions. El Al has already received permission from Saudi Arabia.
