According to ynet (Hebrew), the damage to the wing of 4X-EDH was limited to the exterior cover of the wing. Replacement parts are expected to be received from Boeing in a week or two and the aircraft is expected to be returned to service within a month.

4X-EDH is now fixed and has started flying again. Returned to TLV and soon after flew back to NY. Took a bit more than two weeks.

Last night's LY26 EWR-TLV diverted to Halifax Canada (YHZ) following a smell of smoke in the cabin.
Passengers are now stuck there for Shabbat... |
I was following it live on FR24 last night and listening to CYHZ ATC communications with the pilots.

I wonder if pax who didn't want to wait out shabbat were offered reroute options, if any were still available that late (and not knowing what time they're now expected in tlv)
Also wondering how they'll cater the onward flight from YHZ. How much kosher food could te local caterers keep on hand? |

LY96 Diversion
LY96 PEK-TLV last night was first delayed for seven hours on the ground in Beijing (was scheduled to depart originally at 22:00 local time and didn't leave until 4:50 in the morning), then diverted to LCA, eventually continuing to TLV arriving at 10:17 this morning, 8 hours late...
