737s aren't capable of dumping fuel.
It was burning fuel, not physically dumping it. |
Seems like 4X-EKM is being withdrawn from the fleet, currently on LY3111 to Victorville, just about to land

"STOPOVER in Boston inbound from Luton, then off to Victorville for pickle fork repairs: 4X-EKM, Boeing 737-800 El Al." |
LY26 EWR-TLV last night was diverted to YYT in Canada due to a medical emergency on board.
Seems to be on its way now arriving several hours late.... https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...39634a732a.png https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f567961655.png |

Just to clarify, this was an Ex ElAl 767 which no longer belongs to the airline (which as we know no longer operate the type...) |

Seems a tug driver didn’t want to wait for a guide and dragged an LY 787 into a pole. Significant damage and flight back from Vegas cancelled.

Not El ALs fault and the airport should be paying for repairs!
|
Completely not EL AL's fault here. The fault lies with the airport staff. That it broke so much either indicates egregious negligence on the part of the airport or issues directly from Boeing.
LY will have significant IRROPS now and they should absolutely sue to have the airport pay for the damages (both fixing the plane and the cost of a new short-term lease). |
El Al plane grounded after striking electric pole in Las Vegas

Presumably the insurance will cover the costs for El Al, and then the lawyers will fight it out.
