Kind of like California Pizza Kitchen for me: upon first discovery, huge fan, go there a lot, get burned out. I'm still a fan of the lettuce wraps and spicy chicken, but that's about it.

PF Chang's is awesome! It's a well run operation and the staff really cares that you have a great experience. Most dishes are large enough portions that sharing is a good idea. If you are dining alone the bar is welcoming. They have the expected list of Chinese style classics, plus modern takes on dishes such as duck and spiced lamb. Give it a try!

I love the hot and sour soup and the double pan fried noodles.
Also, I think there is an Asian sea bass that was awesome.
Prices are fair and food is good.

A lot of sizzle, accompanied by smoke and mirrors, and in most dishes little if any closer to "Chinese" than the buffet in the nearest strip center. Well packaged, a successful (in most locations) attempt to lure the affluent middle class, heavily targeting women (where Outback targets males as did Steak and Ale all those decades ago).
Lettuce wraps? In a comparison a year or so back, diners rated the lettuce wraps from Chili's as about equal. 'Nuff said.....(although actually Chili's lettuce wraps aren't bad).
I actually like its downscale affiliate, Pei Wei, better.

Definitely not a fan.
It doesn't take much effort to find a good Chinese restaurant, people. If you go to one that has a lot of Chinese people eating in it, chances are that is a pretty decent Chinese restaurant. Stop encouraging/supporting places like PF Chang's which is marginalized, dressed-up, "Chinese" food at best.

When I first went, I could not figure out why it was so popular. Ok food at too high prices that people wait hours for. There was nothing unpleasant, it just wasn't better than the low end of "good." My dining dollars (and wait times) are much better spent elsewhere. The best part of dinner was a potent and flavo(u)rful beverage served in a martini glass.

Authentic Chinese food, full of Chinese patrons doesn't enter into the equation - it's hardly authentic but then that's not necessarily what a lot of people are in the mood for. Just like Taco Bell it may not be the real thing but I like it.

If you go into PF Changs expecting Chinese food, you're not going to like it. So, I don't do that. I do like their takes on some dishes. But, I'll go with the poster who said they like the spin-off Pei Wei better. I love the Asian Chopped Salad (with some of the chili sauce added for some zip), and different stir fries done veggie with brown rice. It's quick, it tastes good to me, it fills me up, I can get it to go.

I enjoy it. It also has a gluten free menu if you ask for it which is very helpful as a couple of my friends have celiac disease. It is a restaurant where we can go and get good food and they don't have to special order anything.
