I think it was seriously dead heated between Ben and Carol, who were running on fumes. I would've kicked Ben out for butchering up such a a la carte menu item (filet mignon) over Carol butchering the potatoes which was just an appetizer.

I'd like to see a Gio Danny finals.

Ben is as dense as a flourless cake. Listening to him just makes my brain go numb.

I had to laugh when Ramsey told all three of them that he could see any of them as the head chef. I guess it would have been gauche of him to say that he could see Robert and Danny as head chef but not Ben.

A few general comments and questions:

What was with the lady who jumped up from the dining room last episode to tell Ramsey she didn't like the dish? Is there anyone who doesn't believe she was a plant?

For that matter, is there anyone who doesn't believe that Ramsey has an earwig and is following producers' cues during, at the minimum, the judging?

And isn't there a set of rules? Are there any rules other than no rules at all? Because Ramsey seems to do whatever he wants.

Why couldn't they at least get Robert a moped? Surely the weight limit on a Vespa can't be that low.

What's up with Danny? If he is really such HS at 23, then like the culinary wunderkinds before him (Jol Robuchon, et al.) he'd already have his own restaurant and not be in a competition. Did you read his bio?

He's 23 but has "8 years kitchen experience." I didn't know you could work full time in high school.

Danny's place in New Smyrna Beach

Fine Food Found At Flip Flops (This is Danny's place on the beach, it gets great reviews. Here is one recent review.

What we had come for was some good food, and we weren't disappointed. The appetizer list at Flip Flops included Jerk Shrimp, Coconut Prawns, Sauteed Calamari and a few other items ranging from $6 - $12 USD. The choice of salads was interesting. There were Cranberry Spring salads, Citrus Soy Salad, Islander Salad, with the proverbial House Salad and Caesar Salad. Main courses Mahi Mahi with Fresh peach Salsa, Tiger Shrimp Satays with Watermelon Pico de Gallo, Chicken Bruschetta, Wild Mushroom Sirloin and others. Prices for the entrees ranged from about $14 - $18 USD. They had two specials for the evening, a steak dish and a fish (grouper) dish each about $20-$22 USD. We noticed they also had individual pizzas on pita bread. Wine, champagne and beer were available along with iced tea, soft drinks and coffee. One friend had the Mahi Mahi with Peach Salsa. I had the Citrus Soy Salad with Mushroom Soup. My other companion had chicken with Pineapple Walnut Risotto. We were all happy with our choices. The dinners were beautifully presented with an edible flower on the plate. The food was excellent! The service was good. The only thing we didn't particularly like was the level of noise in the restaurant. I don't know whether it was just a rowdy bunch of people or what, but it was difficult to hear each other speak above the noise. However, that won't deter us, since we intend to eat here again, probably at lunchtime. Dress ranged from beach casual (shorts and nice polo shirt) to dressy slacks and tops. Hours are 11 am to 10 pm. Reservations accepted. Phone 386-424-0161. Parking is rather limited, but there is a public parking lot just east of the building or if that fails, the parking lot at the shuffleboard court is usually not filled.

Surprised to see Gio go. I thought Andrea deserved to go before him. I think Ramsey is manipulating this to have a male vs. female final. Quite hoinestly, I'm not thrilled with anyone who's left. I wouldn't want to work for any one of them at the Borgata.

I think I will not watch next week, this show is stupid now, none of these chef's are ready for the big time mentally.

Danny has the most potential but just needs a bit of maturity.

I agree about Gio, but I think the pan incident sealed the deal. Seems that most (all?) of the winners do not actually run a kitchen.

It has become a silly show.

I knew Giovanni would crash and burn, I didn't know it was that bad. Putting a 500 degree pot into the fridge is just mind-boggling.

As stupid as the show has devolved, it really is still an hour to burn each week ^

I really do hope Andrea is next. Her whole Oh-Giovanni-got-eliminated-well-I'll-just-march-back-in-line-and-Chef-Ramsay-won't-mind attitude finally pissed Ramsay off.

Hell, yes. It's kind of sad the way they're deluding themselves. The final two clearly will be Danny and Paula, and I'd give it to Danny because of his communications skills. Both are, clearly, fantastic cooks, but I haven't seen Paula really running the kitchen yet, whereas Danny seems to do it every time.

Interesting -- Danny is only 23. Imagine having your own restaurant at that age!

If you were in charge of hiring a head chef for the Borgata, would you seriously consider ANY of the contestants from Hell's Kitchen?
