That had nothing to do with coffee. It was because Sally Struthers was telling us we could feed Africa for just 70 cents a day

I've had two experiences with the burger at 5 Guys here in Phoenix. One great the other average.

Even if every time the food was great I would still have to agree with those who have questioned the value. I treated my friend and 2 drinks, a little burger, a regular burger and a fry came out to just shy of $20! There is no way that's a good value for a burger.

For those who like them it may be worth it but a good value it is not.

Five Guys does not have shakes. When I want a burger, I want a shake to go with it.

Had them once when they opened up near work. Once was enough.

Really miss In-N-Out.

Yep. I prefer to make my own coffee or visit independent coffee shops when I can, but realistically I'm often in places (like most airports) where that isn't an option. If the choice is between the airport bar's vat-o-coffee and Starbuck's, I'm going for the tall latte.

I decided to try it when it received various awards for best burger... it is not the best burger I have tried but it is not that bad either. There burger always satisfies my hunger..

It is a actually good if you want to get fat... The cheeseburger has around 920 calories and the fries have almost 1,500 calories... good for skinny people who want to get fat. I guess.

Well, the Five Guys burger will be bigger (is that really a good thing?), but do you really think the quality of the ground beef is going to be vastly superior? I tend to doubt it. Heck, Wendy's only serves fresh (not frozen) beef and you can get a very tasty Double Stack for a buck there.

While Five Guys no doubt has SOMEWHAT better quality than the mega burger chains, I'm certain that it's an incremental quality improvement. Perhaps justifying double the price. But not triple or quadruple. It's basically a "luxury" burger. Just like buying a luxury handbag or something.

What is the difference in overall quality on Five Guys and In-and-Out? I know McDonalds and Burger King (not sure on Wendy's) burgers are mostly filler products. Is this where the two favorites separate? 100% meat? Is it still produced in factory-farms? Grass-fed?

I just had my first 5 Guys burger at LGA Central Terminal.

I thought the cheeseburger was the best I have ever eaten. The fries left a bit to be desired. I will certainly try one closer to home and see how the fries are there.

UPDATE:

I took my DW to the one in Nanuet, NY last night.
She made a funny face when she bit into her large hamburger. I had the samll cheeseburger and didn't understand what the problem was with her burger until I took a bite. Two patties was just WAY too much meat. She took a bite of mine and loved it. She also didn't order mustard on her's, which she regretted.

The fries were much better than those at LGA.^

I also tried my 1st cheeseburger recently. A big thumbs up. ^

Vastly superior to In-N-Out, IMO.

For me, like the Waffle House, Five Guys has become one of those default go to places. It's not great, but consistently good. "Location, location, location"; I'd be happy with Wendy's, but these days Five Guys seems to be right there where I'm already going.

I watched the romantic comedy How Do You Know over the weekend and I noticed Reese Witherspoon and her friend were eating Five Guys somewhere in DC. I nudged my date and said "they're eating Five Guys!". She didn't care

Are there any 5 Guys in any other airports than LGA?

IAD has at least 1. It's in the UA regional shack known as terminal A. I believe there may also be one in terminal B but don't quote me on that.

If I remember correctly, IAD also has the only Chipotle that serves breakfast.

Supposedly one in DCA, but I've never actually seen it, since I fly out of the AS/DL gates.

No surprise that the Washington airports have 'em -
the one at National is in north pier (US Air) at gate 41.
Two at Dulles - A4, which has speedy service, and off
in the hinterlands at B71, which I've seen ground to a
halt, so I've never used it.
