A bowl of oatmeal usually kills those hunger pains.

Nabs crackers. Outside the south known as Lance's Toaste Chee. They're orange square crackers with peanut butter in them. One of my favorite snacks.

Sweet memories of youth (when unwilling to cook)....

Saltine crackers, crunchy peanut butter and jelly/jam, plus a glass of buttermilk.

I can't remember the last time I didn't have a can of Progresso soup in the pantry. It always goes on sale for $1/can right around Thanksgiving and it doesn't expire for two years, so I buy a year's worth (about 15 cans) and put it away. I find that some sriracha helps liven it up.

this is my "having next to nothing" meal...
having lived my uni life on top of a pub/corner shop(i.e. inflated prices of everything) i've skipped a meal a few times, and spend the time going to the supermarket. Stop by my friend's place on the way and make them a nice meal(sometimes vv).

Currently I'm eating two pieces of leftover cornbread from Cracker Barrel. Looking forward to a pizza delivery tomorrow.

My go to is something I discovered in college, back when I didn't know how to cook. Pasta mixed with equal amounts butter and parmesan. Of course in college I used the "parmesan" out of the green can, but now I always have a chunk of real parm in the frig. Imagine my surprise when I later discovered that this is the recipe for authentic Fettucine Alfredo. No wonder it was so good. I'll also add frozen peas to it to make me feel like I'm eating something healthy.

I always have canned tuna around so I'll mix that with some mayo, dijon, capers, and red onion (I like my tuna with a kick), slap it on whatever bread I can find, top with any cheese and pop in the oven for a tuna melt. Bonus if I happen to have some boxed creamy tomato soup from Trader Joe's in the pantry.

And then there's always the option of a couple fried eggs with some toasted bread for slopping up the runny yolks. Yum.

Do you:

1. Skip a meal
2. Go out or order something delivered
3. Make a peanut butter sandwich
4. Get out the staples and make something from scratch
5. Go over to Jerry's apartment

For me, it's 10 miles to the closest restaurant and 5 miles to a store. I look in all the drawers and pantry. Maybe rice and beans. A fast salad if there's lettuce and anything to add. Tuna from the can. Crackers. Dry cereal.
If there's "nothing", then depending on my mood I either walk to the bakery or dner shop or I order a pizza.
