My go to is something I discovered in college, back when I didn't know how to cook. Pasta mixed with equal amounts butter and parmesan. Of course in college I used the "parmesan" out of the green can, but now I always have a chunk of real parm in the frig. Imagine my surprise when I later discovered that this is the recipe for authentic Fettucine Alfredo. No wonder it was so good. I'll also add frozen peas to it to make me feel like I'm eating something healthy.

I always have canned tuna around so I'll mix that with some mayo, dijon, capers, and red onion (I like my tuna with a kick), slap it on whatever bread I can find, top with any cheese and pop in the oven for a tuna melt. Bonus if I happen to have some boxed creamy tomato soup from Trader Joe's in the pantry.

And then there's always the option of a couple fried eggs with some toasted bread for slopping up the runny yolks. Yum.
