Wow! Lots of absolutely mouthwatering suggestions here...
However, my all-time favourite has not been mentioned yet:

Original Beijing Ya (Peking Duck)

Had the best ones in China only, much much better than what you get in Chinese restaurants in Europe.
Thinking about the food makes me anticipate my trip to China next month even more. Mmmh!

Cheers,
Torsten

Cadbury's Dairy Milk chocolate BUT only if it's made in the UK.

It's made to a slightly different recipe around the world, usually to stop it melting, and sorry to those of you overseas - it just isn't as nice.

When I travel overseas if i'm told to bring anything from the UK it, more often than not, is Cadbury's Dairy Milk Chocolate.... and it's cheap £1.50 for a big bar!

Bluefin otoro
Kobe beef
pork belly
10 oz crabcakes @ Jerry's Seafood in Seabrook MD (as good if not better than Baltimore)

Crab-and-rice, cracked conch, and conch souse: a true shame, as I just can't get good Bahamian food north of South Florida. :(

And it sounds gross, but I love the deep-fried twinkies that are served with chocolate sauce on the Santa Cruz boardwalk. Yum! :)

Too many to list for me, but here is one I most recently discovered.

Neuhaus Chocolate (though Cornee Port Royal IMO makes the best Creme Fraiche Praline).

Good thing I don't live in Brussels. I guess one can add Liege waffles topped with chocolate sauce (milk rather than dark) as another Belgian weakness... Too much other food to list. :)

Cherimoya is indeed custard apple. A wonderful taste if
picked almost ripe and allowed to ripen at home. Similar
is the pawpaw (not the papaya pawpaw, but the native
American).

But I find that I have read all these posts and have
nodded agreement to about 90% of them - surprise
that my BMI is just 25.1 ...

Onion rings! (Thick-cut)

Fresh Lichees (haven't had these since I was a kid - the imported ones usually don't cut it)

Wow! Apparently I have pretty simple taste buds. A rare treat would be thin crust pizza or Tex-Mex. Chocolate (most any kind) is also a favorite!

As a matter of fact, it isn't nice at all. Is there even any chocolate in it?

A man with very good taste! I also can't resist that very first jambon et gruyère with butter on a fresh baguette after arriving in Paris. It is the first thing I want to eat after getting off the plane.

On a completely different level, a good Chicago pan pizza (from Malnati's or Pizzeria Due in Chicago). Or an Italian beef sandwich, juicy, with lots of hot giardiniera from Mr. Beef (or, believe it or not, Wrigley Field).

Yep! Good stuff, there!

As it's the end of August, the Hatch chiles have started arriving at supermarkets in Albuquerque. Every parking lot has a roaster going and the smell is just incredible. My wife, who only moved to NM two years ago, doesn't get into the smell, whereas I actually get a shiver down my spine at the aroma. I swear, it's a drug!

Peanut M&M's. Part of any nutritious meal. :)

Outback hot wings and caesar salad. Mmmmmmmmmm

(Beets?)

I have WAY too many. I think I have issues.

1. Loblaw's President's Choice Decadent Chocalate Chip Cookies kept in the fridge.

2. Girl Guide mint chocolate cookies at Christmans time (notice a trend?)

3. Homemade apple pie (made with good cooking apples)

4. My late father-in-laws homemade gnocchi

5. My wife's aunt's homemade wild mushroom antipasto.

6. Most foods.

I DO have issues.
