Fiji whenever I can (mostly at home), otherwise Crystal Geyser when in California. I used to be able to get Fiji at UT, but now I've been drinking Dasani at school.

Fiji seems to hold the edge here on popularity thus far.
As I hadn't tried it yet, I bought a six pack of 1 liter bottles at Cost Plus World Markets today in Southern CA. They seemed a little pricey at $9.95 for the six-pack. It works out to about $1.65 per liter.
Is this a good price or should I shop around in the future??
Thanks....

They seem to be able to extract a premium for the pretty label and exotic orgin. My local Winn Dixie caries it in a 3-pak of liter bottles for under $4.00.

I don't taste a difference in most waters. You wouldn't know it from the 200 different empty water bottles in my office. But, I rarely buy one a second time. I fill a glass at the big jug in the break room at work and buy gallon jugs of store brand for the home. Local water most places I have lived has been foul tasting at least part of the year.

30 years ago, I added a filter to my faucet and was grossed out at how swiftly it collected green stuff. I never tasted anything funny, but prefer my green stuff served on a plate.

For still water my preference is Panna

For sparkling, Vichy Catalan is my favorite...very heavy, distinct mineral content. As far as I know it is unavailable in the US, however.

That's a pretty decent price but still puts Fiji in the super-premium category.
I'm just finishing up my first liter of Fiji and I have to admit I'm not overly impressed. It just kinda tastes like.........water.
My favorites up 'till now have been Volvic, Ozarka and Dasani. But I may have to re-think Volvic after this report.

It is sold on the internet for US delivery (at $2+/liter). See http://www.aquamaestro.com/step1.asp

Both 1 liter and half-liter six packs were on sale at the local store the other day. I think the 1 liter six pack was around that price, can't remember. It might have been $9 or $8.99 instead. I may go back and get some.

Zephyrhills Natural Spring Water is just pure tasty. ^ I have wonderful well water at home(no city chlorine), but the Zephyr is better.

I think Poland Spring is similar, but by the time it gets trucked to Florida it tastes like "essence of plastic bottle". I tried some at EWR, figured it was fresher, and it was similar to the Zephyrhills.

I bought a really tasty local water at NRT, will have to check if I wrote down what kind it was. Might have been Fuji. Comes in a square shaped bottle. Don't know if it is exported, but if you travel thru NRT pick some up at the convenience shop.

I usually bring a few pint bottles of the best local bottled water home from around the world. Great presents for my H2O snob friends, something they can never get locally. Cheap present too. But no wonder my carry on is so heavy.

Germans typically drink carbonated water: Perrier, Apollinaris, San Pellegrino, and the like. They all taste yuk! to me. I prefer Evian, Vittel, and Aqua Panna. I don't believe Fiji water is all that great, and in general I am opposed to transporting water half way around the world, and paying $2/liter. So I try to stick with the local stuff -- Best West Coast water: Earth2O.

Portions of the post that previously appeared in this space has been deleted. I would provide you with a reason why, but doing so would likely be against the TOS.

I do not like Fiji at all.

I drink tap water most places, except in the car, on airplanes, outside the US, and Baltimore (over many years, the tap water makes me ill).

Still: Ice Mountain in the car, Vasa at O'Hare, Arrowhead on the west coast, Volvic in Europe. Dasani if I have to, Aquafina only if I can't find a sugar free soft drink.

Sparkling: Poland Spring if flavored, San Pellegrino or Calistoga if not.

Interesting to see all these responses. I've always felt this business was...or at least could sometimes be....something of a scam.

Here's a quote from a business associate in the South some years back....the owner of a franchise for one of "the big two" cola companies.

"I couldn't wait to get into the bottled water business. I love it! You don't have to make anything! You get your product from a hole in the ground! Then you sell it for as much or more than the stuff you have to make!"

I forgot about this one - Biota - from Colorado. The water is pretty good, but the gimick is the packaging. It's in a completely biodegradable plastic bottle made from corn resin.

I thought the water kinda tasted like a plastic corn bottle.

Aren't those all owned by Nestle now anyway? (I can't remember which are off the top of my head, but several are.)

Have to agree about the plastic bottle, but I would say that even here, and that's only halfway to Florida. As I think about it, this may be my issue with several brands, not just Poland Spring. For all I know it has to do with handling issues at certain stores or warehouses. But plastic taste is a problem. Never found that problem with Fiji or amazingly enough Dasani, although I do agree with the transport comment. The reason Fiji is expensive is the transport, I'm sure, and I don't get it that often. It is indeed pretty crazy to get water from halfway around the world (but I still think it tastes good).
