Travelling on business to Anaheim, CA in the next few days and would be interested in any recommendations for resturants close to the conference centre. May be looking for something different - just not 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Outta Here' kinda different (if you know what I mean ).

-If you can get time, it's only about 30 minutes to the beach, where you can eat by the ocean. Two places I like near my home in Huntington Beach are Dukes' Hawaiian style fish restaurant on the pier with great food and views, and the Californian in the Huntington Beach Hyatt, which won a 4th Diamond last year.
-At the conference centre, you've got the various Disney options. The steakhouse in the Grand Californian hotel is surprisingly good, if slightly overpriced, and is in a gorgeous library style room.
-Finally, you're near some of the largest Korean and Vietnamese communities in the country, and there are some very good restaurants hidden away. If you're interested, I'll check with some of my more knowledgeable colleagues.

Best restaurant by far is Napa Rose in the Grand Californian. Incredible wine cellar, paired tasting menus, etc. The White House is an excellent old-style Italian in Anaheim Hills. There are tons of unqiue restaurants other than the gross Claimjumpers & other chains you find on Harbor Blvd/Katella. Check out Chowhound.com - LA Board for all kinds of great suggestions.

Thanks for the great info. Probably won't have much chance to get out to the beach - though I do have a free evening on Thursday, we'll see.

Agree with Napa Rose; I was surprised how good it was being in the Disney Resort. I didn't feel like Mickey was going to come over to the table at anytime

Yes, Napa Rose is the one whose name I was trying to remember at the Grand Californian. Very good meal.

The Napa Rose is a good choice, although I think they are overpriced. If you like some cajun iunfluence, I highly recommend Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney. Great food is served there.
I have to second the recommendation for The Anaheim WHite House. Burno runs a top notch restaurant there. Another good choice would be Mr. Stox on Katella. They opffer nice cuisine and an impressive wine list.

Another option if you want to stay on Disney property is the somewhat hidden and often overlooked Granville's Steakhouse at the Disneyland Hotel. Just had dinner there the other night and it's a very nice casual yet fine dining experience. Don't let the outside scare you. It's very nice inside.

King Fishhouse next to the Stadium Promenade on Katella (just a little east of the Pond/Hockey Arena) has awesome seafood - sort of with a New Orleans/Cajun Flavor - I don't drink but my friends really like their bar too.

I'm sure there are several nice places in Anaheim, but when I first saw this thread I was reminded of being asked at Wendy's - "Will you be dining in?"

Turns out we had an emergency in Orange County, so we'll be there this weekend, so we may try the White House- it looks charming! A friend also recommended Antonello's? I hope we can hit some of the South Coast sales

Antonello's is good over-the-top Italian - you'll enjoy. For lunch, Troquet in the Nordstrom's wing, 3rd floor is good. If it ever stops raining!!
