Romantic Restaurant near Laguna Beach?

I'm headed out to S. LA near the Laguna Beach area and would like to take my girlfriend out to dinner along the ocean/beach. Any suggestions for a romantic dining experience along the ocean in the area S of LA?

Welcome to FT, abebix. I think that the restaurant in the Surf and Sand Hotel in Laguna Beach is quite romantic. I believe the name is "Splash". Lovely view of the ocean and you are practically in the sand while you dine. Better yet, get a room in the hotel. Wonderful ^

If you go right to the center of LB by the park, you will see a hamburger place on the beach. Roughly behind that there is a nice place that should suit you. I can't recall the name though.

I do not know what good restaurants are there in Laguna Beach, but if you want to drive to a nice place for dinner, I suggest Rothschild's on East Coast Highway and MacArthur in Corona Del Mar (near Fashion Island). Great meals and very romantic.

Let me know if you tried it and like it. I go there every year, and this year, I'm taking my hubby there!

I can't remember the name, but there is a really amazing Spanish restaurant in Laguna Beach. I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton the year before last and they recommended it. All I can tell you is from the Ritz you just go straight until you get into town and it's on your left. It was very romantic with a perfect view of the ocean and if your their at the right time you can go out and watch the sunset.

The romantic restaurant on the water at the Surf & Sand Hotel is called Splashes - be sure & ask for a table off the bar on the window - these are closest to the water! The casual, but spectacular view dining is the Laguna Village Cafe - it's in a grouping of little stores on the beach - the view is better than the food... The spectacular new Montage Resort has two wonderful restaurants, Studio & The Loft - I get confused as to which has the best ocean view. Also in Laguna & not on the water, but excellent food is Cafe Zoolu and 230 Forest. Enjoy!

P.S. I think Diamond Street Beach is the most romantic in Laguna

My sister goes here every year on her birthday because she loves the prime rib. It has been there for a zillion years, and used to be a bordello

That's the one, 361 Cliff Drive. Really amazing view with equally good food. It's a great place for special occasions.

Las Brisas is a great place for a drink at sunset, but the whole world agrees.

Las Brisa is a great place for a drink at sunset, but the food is really not all that great. Splashes is much more romantic (less zooish) & better food - plus the ocean is literally crashing at your feet.
