My favorite is any one that has a Peet's or Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf nearby so I can go there instead for, respectively, a latte or an Ice Blended. Failing that, I like the ones in London (except for Leiceser Square) for their mugs and because I think the lattes taste better there (due to either the water or the milk or both).

Tomashi, I'm hoping I'll be able to go to Tokyo this summer... still crossing my paws, but if I'm lucky, I really wanna go see that Starbucks in Omotesando/Harajuku that you mentioned. I like cool, colorful and creative artsy fartsy surroundings & people too! :-:

And I'd probably take a look at the Roppongi Starbucks that mjm mentioned too..

Oh! everyone should check mjm's starbucks mugs collection (he's got a link --do you see? just need to scroll up) I checked it out --it's quite impressive!! You must travel A LOT to have amassed such a collection mjm! ^

Edinburgh Scotland would be an experience too! The one Tornado mentioned.. ahhh trying to envision myself in comfy plush chair, a good book in hand, pausing every now and then to gaze out the floor-to-ceiling windows to see magnificent castles whilst sipping with delight my iced caramel macchiato! ^ Yummm...

Ok.. time to snap outta my dream... sigh...

Little Dragon Kitty

P.S. Sorry couldn't contribute a favorite Starbucks.. as I'm in Calgary, and the Starbuck's here all seem to pale in comparison to the ones you all described. Yikes!

In Dallas, we have a few of those scenarios where there are two Starbucks seemingly across the street from each other (and I'm aware of at least three places where there are two Starbucks in the same anchor center on one corner). Here, traffic patterns can force loyalty in one direction or the other. Like I know that if they happened to open a second Starbucks by me on the opposite side of Denton Tap Road, that would be the one I went to on weekday mornings because I would not have to cross traffic twice to get my coffee... and would likely shave 5 to 10 minutes off the morning stop.

Be sure to drop a note ahead of time and maybe another Starbucks loving FTer will be oin hand.

Thanks for the kind words. Travel a lot but this board is truly a great resource. Literally hundreds of very kind and helpful co-conspirators.

Best,

Mike

A new Starbucks just opened up directly on my way to work. I no longer have to go 5 miles out of my way to get my morning Fru Fru. They even have a drive thru. However, this is not a good option for me as I want NO Foam and I mean NO Foam. I tend to watch over the Baristas for 2 reasons. 1) to see if the Baristas follow the brewing standards and 2) to fraternize with them. You never know what perks come with fraternization. I love it when the Barista sees me coming in and already has my Fru Fru in the works. ^

There is a Starbucks in Wauwatosa, WI (suburb of Milwaukee) that is open 24 hours and has a drive-thru. But that location isn't as "cozy" as some other ones in the area.

Fav in Thailand

As I am in Thailand alot these days....my favorite Starbucks in Thailand is in Bangkok on "Lang Suan Street" very near the large Central World/Gaysorn Plaza/Hyatt Hotel/Intercontinental Hotel shopping corner complex. This Starbucks is set in a very nice house with indoor and outdoor seating and Wi-Fi internet access.

A couple years ago I spent awhile in the southern philippines where all coffee is instant coffee (Nescafe) except for the occaisional Dunkin Donuts which is the only place I ever ran into drip coffee. When I got back to the Manila airport, I had a couple hours to kill so I hopped in a cab and told him "Take me to the closest Starbucks!", I then spent an hour or so in one of the Makati malls savoring every drop of my americano!

That may always be my favorite Starbucks!
