The last, best steak I had was a chateaubriand for two from the Silver Fox outside of Dallas. They're under the same restaurant group as III Forks.

I like Club Paris in Anchorage, Alaska. They've been there since the 50's (not many places still operating predate the earthquake), and the 14 oz. filet mignon is the big specialty. They also have a tenderloin burger on the lunch menu that's unique.

You would also think that any place that could operate as a standalone upscale steak place outside a casino operation in a market like Las Vegas would really need to have something to it. The city has tons of buffet and other deals with steak, ranging from Circus Circus level to pretty good.

Best in Australia...

The best I have been to in Australia and which is in my home town of Brisbane
is Cha Cha Char ....

They treat the menu like a wine list... describing exactly where each cut has come from and whether it is grain or grass fed.

http://www.chachachar.com.au/

I would eat there every week if my arteries could handle it.
Next time you are in Australia, make it a stop.

Cheers

Anyone know of any Brazilian steak houses in the United States? The kind where they serve different kinds of meat at one setting. I miss those places.

There are plenty of them.

I was at one in Las Vegas and another one in the Atlanta area.

While they were good, I was not particularly impressed with either of them and they are not inexpensive...

My favorite restaurants in the country are Brazilian steakhouses! I can honestly say that i have never tasted better tasting meat than at one of these steakhouses. WHile there are plenty throughout the country, not all of them are even close to being as good as the ones below. THough i will say the majority of them are still very good. A good example of this is Churrascaria Plataforma in Manhattan. Very pricey. And tasty. But not even in the same league as the ones below.

The best one in the country is Porcao. http://www.porcaous.com/ I have only been the the New York location.

Now prior to visiting Porcao, i had visited many of these and thought there was no brazilian steakhouse better than my 2nd favorite Brasilia, in Newark, NJ. THey do not have a website.... but i can honesty say they are great. the restaurant resides in the Portuguese section of Newark. So its very authentic.

I have also been to http://www.brazzaz.com/ in Chicago. It was pretty good as well.

Bern's is a great experience. Went there in December of last year. Actually flew to Tampa just to have dinner there (flew there Saturday morning, flew hoem Sunday afternoon).

The steak I had (shared with someone) wasn't the best steak I had ever had. However, the total overall experience was one of my most favorite meals ever. I was there with a large group of friends. After a round of drinks at the bar waiting for the table, we were seated. Started off with champagne and tons of appetizers. Then we orderd steaks. And some bottles of wine. Then we took the tour. Then the dessert room. From the time we walked in the door to the time we walked out clocked in at about five hours.
