Hydroponic! From the basement, not from the garden.

Entrees were Indian influenced grilled chicken and handmade fennel spiced burgers on Mexican rolls.

I had a passion fruit paleta.

Got a piece of short-dated Icelandic cod (i.e., the real McCoy) and pan-fried it in butter and olive oil. Delicious and brings back memories of a meal at a sagardotegi in Astigarraga, Euskadi even if it wasn't previously salted.

Tonight will be much more mundane: Short-dated organic ground beef which will be formed into hamburgers and topped with processed cheese.

Cheeseburgers were on the menu here tonight for a while. But we made a mid-day move to taco salad. After spending the long weekend with my wife's parents and her brother's family who all won't eat anything with even a hint of spice, it was a no-brainer. I'm looking surprisingly forward to dinner tonight.

Don't want to appear as if I didn't enjoy the food though. There's always plenty of sausages, homemade sauerkraut, good rye bread, etc., inter-mingled with all the typical American cookout foods. Just not a jar of salsa or hot sauce to be found :).

Leftover rice and beans. First time around, no spice, so this time I added quite a bit of chili powder.

Nonya chap chye lemak - own recipe

Maybe you can explain it to me, but I've never seen the appeal for chap chye. To me, it's just over-boiled cabbage/glass noodles/few other ingredients. Am I missing something?
