Since black garlic tastes sort of sweet I'm trying to imagine the brown butter, black garlic, anchovy bread crumbs taste - sounds interesting!

To me it sounds similar to Caesar salad with the garlic/anchovy flavors .....browned butter makes everything better IMO.

Around this time last year I was in Melbourne on business with a frriend and we went to a bar in St Kilda that had "Big Mac loaded fries". It was literally everything on a Big Mac except the bun on top of fries. It was so good. The only problem was the people we'd been meeting with during the day were taking us out for dinner and we were both full as a state school by the time we'd finished the chips.
I found a pic of said creation on FB. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...d9b47b7109.jpg |
Caesar salad
steamed broccoli with browned butter (inspired by CE) buttermilk mashed Yukon gold potatoes braised short ribs (braised in red wine, beef broth, & balsamic vinegar) along with onions, garlic, and carrots . Comfort food https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...eee863ffd9.jpg |
Mixed green salad
remaining half sandwich of headcheese and bacon with added avocado foccacia hummus spicy curry hummus cinnamon roll bananas lots of iced water note - I chose the Sf-made headcheese and learned that it’s pork and not beef. I understand that cabeza (mexican cuisine) is cow but maybe I’m wrong. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...cd63a6646.jpeg |
Started with nibbles of cucumber slices loaded with creme fraiche and lumpfish roe. Then Baked Gammon with Cumberland Sauce, grilled cauliflower with an anchovy and chili dressing, and purple sprouting broccoli. Very satisfied after that plate.

I assume you'll get lots of compliments on this post, since people seem to watch your vegetable count. :)
i saw that Costco has frozen stone crab - which I’ve enjoyed at joes seafood in Chicago. I definitely will try it in the future. Have you had stone crabs? :-) |

Yes, somewhere in the Fort Lauderdale area, can't recall exactly. They were delicious but I recall them being very expensive at the restaurant.

Let the record show that Mr. CE broke a household record by cooking vegetarian dinners two consecutive nights, breaking the prior record of zero nights! He did a great NYTimes recipe last night -- Caramelized Brussels Sprouts Pasta With Toasted Chickpeas. The record will stand at two, because I'm cooking tonight and doing my version of a low-country perloo, with king salmon, smoked trout, bacon, tomatoes, peas and Carolina Gold rice.

Going the comfort food route tonight.
Pan fried panko-crusted pork chops Mashed potatoes Sauteed spinach Some kind of mushroom pan sauce/gravy "sauce/gravy" because I really haven't thought it through yet. I know we have some beef stock (I'd rather chicken) and mushrooms that need to be used. There will likely be a little mustard and white wine in the sauce too. Or maybe not the wine, since I'm not sure how white will go with beef stock. But it will taste good in the end :). |
Feeling lazy tonight so it will be a simple salad from Newks and tomato basil soup. Originally had planned to cook a pork tenderloin but too tired (not that it's that hard, just takes time).
