Yes , the humidity in Singapore is something else , was baking the past few days & wondered what happened to the NE Monsoon .. supposed to be cooler dropped to 21 C 😉 😂 briefly last year or perhaps in January . Then it thunderstormed & poured in the afternoon till evening . The poinsettias , etc are relieved too . Good thing it was not too heavy driving to dinner .

Losing weight too , 😊 , despite eating with a vengeance around the world while not having to use the passport .
This month , like now , was supposed to be inflight to SEA & YVR and / or potentially SFO after the Munich CHRISTmas markets were cancelled - just think no forest mushrooms , mulled wine - missing all those other CHRISTmas goodies and the cool .

So after skipping lunch , returned to Table at 7 , second time in 5 days . They serve Asian Indonesian cuisine and modern European fare .
Went the whole hog & had the CHRISTmas dinner set ( plus more ) . You get the drift from the photos ..

Last night: flank steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli
Tonight: sauteed sablefish, and I'm going to attempt to make something resembling mushroom risotto, but substituting spaghetti squash for the rice.

For me, probably try to limit diner to a 6 - 8 ounce piece of wild salmon. Regarding the weight thing, during my younger days, I could eat anything under the sun, and it wouldn't have mattered one bit. Alas, those days have gone, and likely will never return.

So, need to eat light and hangout with those cardio vixens at the gym the next couple of weeks to pay for my Vegas gorge.

Sure hope not that , think nothing reported at last check up a couple of months back .
Quite amazed myself , pleased & 🙌🏻 actually .. think it is the swimming twice daily .. think posted a lot last year too by poolside “ tea “ when we were stuck at home last year . Spent about the whole day in the pool then doing laps . No dining out permitted at times this year too !

So likely continue to perhaps skip a meal .. like drag out breakfast so no lunch is needed & light dinner .
For instance , blueberry muffin & pain au chocolate for breakfast yesterday but with numerous interruptions , only finished the chocolate croissant at 2 pm ! Sort of became lunch ..

Enjoy wild salmon too , do not ‘ partake ‘ the farmed ones .

Tonight is possibly 190 at FS or Lino , depends if their is availability - perhaps same back up table 190 we were using for this year ‘ SIN DO

Turns out I needed to thaw the burgers in the fridge before cooking. Theyve been moved back to tomorrow or Sunday night dinner.

backup plan: salami sandwich with tomato from my neighbors garden.

I have had several of these Omaha Steaks gifts over the years and have to say I find the meat pretty mediocre.

MUCH prefer the gifts I've gotten from https://www.butcherbox.com/

I agree but it was a gift from a gift!
I used to have a supplier who would send us Omaha steaks for Xmas....I kept trying to figure out a way to say that he was wasting his money but it is the thought that counts, I guess.

We were seeing a show at City Winery last night and it was pouring outside, so decided to eat at the CW restaurant rather than making two stops. I need to remember how lousy it is, because I'm always disappointed yet I still end up there at least once a year. Last night I had a poke bowl that seemed to have been made by a chef who'd never had poke before. (Carrots and tomatoes?!)

A Jersey Mike's original Italian made Mike's way with a bit of hot red peppers.

Maybe my favorite fast food sub...would have been even better with a glass of red wine.

Grilled chicken thigh
basmati rice
Bacon wrapped & maple glazed roasted carrots. (Carrots are not burned...they were multicolor carrots & those are the purple ones)

I could eat almost this whole plate of carrots. I had these in a restaurant in Croatia in September & this is my knock off version .😜

Seems like a foodie trip to Singapore and hopefully , Malaysia , is overdue .

The steak the previous dinner was on the minute side and do not mean minute steak either . Needed to rectify the situation .

Headed to FS as was somewhat an impromptu decision in the morning .. being Saturday .. seems like all the steak houses or all decent restaurants just about were full . Wrangled a table at 190 though it showed that it was full too on booking systems .

Seems like the restaurants all have their CHRISTmas set menus available . Will return to enjoy - need to figure out when though .
Had the chef s special steak instead .
Also a bit of green vegetables / choy sum from wanton soup .

2 butters - Japanese plum & unsalted

Grass fed Australian with mousseline potatoes and winter black truffles

Oh .. wrong thread but oh well .. Hawker centre laksa .. late lunch

Note the change to CHRISTmas season tablecloth ( s ) ..
