That's good to know, and I suspected as much.
I don't like my milk sweetened by added sugars, except for maybe the raisins from when I have Raisin Bran!

By the way, any views on Fairlife milk? I briefly read where it's supposed to be less in sugar and creamier, though I haven't tried it. I was going to pick up some of their chocolate milk, but noticed they used artificial sweeteners, and decided against it--don't like that aftertaste.

RE: cream in coffee

When I do put cream in my coffee, which isn't often, I prefer heavy cream--love the richness.

I've tried it and don't mind it, but I don't use milk or creamer in milk, so I can't comment on that. I typically only use it for cereal and when eating cookies or other desserts.

If I'm going to have an alternative to cows milk, I'll ask for oat milk. There's a coffee shop 20 minutes away that does a fab oat milk flat white. It's the equal of cows milk for coffee.

I looked at non dairy milks while at the store this afternoon. I can buy almond milk for $2.50 a half gallon. None of the oat milks were under $5.00. It’s not like we go through it all that fast, but it would have to be way better than almond milk for me today that kind of premium.

I now know that you’re not a cost kid… I get the ks oat quarts. It’s like $7 for 6 quarts. Or $7 for 3 half gallons. I don’t know cost cost for almond milk. It’s shelf stable so I can store them in the pantry.
I forget if you actually like oat so if you’re happy with almond, it might be easiest to clap hands and stick with it.

I’ve never tried oat milk. But my wife is happy with almond and doesn’t generally embrace change.

Does she embrace paper currency? [Stepped right into that one, no?]

I guess it depends on how badly you want to milk this thread...

I’ve been forced down the non-dairy route (unwillingly) by allergies.

I use unsweetened almond milk on my morning oatmeal/porridge, mostly because I realised by having it with oat milk I was have oats covered in oats with a sprinkling of granola (more oats) on top…

For coffee, oat milk is definitely the least worst option and foams best in a cappuccino/flat white, particularly the Oatly Barista version (or the 3 other barista foaming oatmilks my local supermarket now offers ). But it’s really no substitute for full fat milk and I find myself drinking my coffee black 90% of the time.

Big dairy person here. I use 2% on cereal and drink it with cookies and pastries. I don’t drink it by itself.

I’ll sometimes use pretend milk in cooking when the recipe calls for it.

I prefer my milk to not be sweeter in taste than the 2% milk I typically drink.

Just picked some up, and tried it today. Just my first impression, but I really like it! It's like really creamy with a very smooth thicker texture. It'd be great with cookies too, but I can just drink this plain all day long.

PS - I got the whole milk one.

I'm not typically an oatmeal cookie fan, but perhaps with oat milk...
