Cherries still on sale at WF. $4.99/5.99

Lomapaseo Jun 25, 2020 7:34 pm

Shop-rite latest flyer starting Sunday is $1.99/lb

I just bought some super large cherries at Walmart for $3.99. Best I've had in years!

WF tonight had $5.99 for the Strawberry Cherries (never tried or seen before) and $4.99 for the Rainer.

Love Rainer though so easy decision at that sale price.

Not sure what she paid for them, but the potential adopter for my foster pup bought me a bag of Rainier cherries at Whole Foods yesterday.

My spouse and I cannot determine if Strawberry cherries are any different from just regular red cherries.
rainier are still so much more yummy.

$9.99/lb for rainier today at Gus’ market. 4X the $2.48/lb sale at Safeway but I’m probably not needing to go to Safeway this week whereas Gus’ has nice prepared foods and sushi for my spouse’s luncheon.

All 3 Wednesday grocery ads featured cherries today. Aldi’s was the winner at $1.49 with Publix and Winn Dixie $1.99 runners up.

Even better, local peaches are featured at $0.99 - $1.49 a pound

Current Lucky's ad has "Red Cherries" for $1.67/lb. No doubt these are the "red" variety from "somewhere."

Whole Foods is at $3.99 (Prime) for the current sale week for both Rainiers and organic reds.

Aldi was sadly out of stock on the $1.49 cherries last week when I went in. They did have fairly decent looking Rainiers though.

I grabbed a couple of bags of Rainiers at Aldis early this week and was shocked to find when I got home that they called them Red Cherries at $1.69/lb. I went back the next day and grabbed another 4 bags and was charge $4.99 lb.

Next weeks add shows the Rainiers on sale at Aldis for $3.99 lb. Will head back again at that price and also buy some more toilet tissue

For the last couple of weeks, Kroger has had dark sweet cherries for $1.49 - $1.99 per lb. I haven't seen them that cheap in years. Does anyone know why prices are low this year?

Michigan tart cherry season is just starting. I can't wait for those!!

We’ve been getting sour cherries at the NYC greenmarkets for two weeks now. I’ve seen pricing ranging from $8-$15/quart (fortunately the $8 vendor is also my favorite farm for peaches, so they have been getting all of my money).

Dark cherries are relatively cheap at this time in Sweden too. I was billed c. $3-3.50 per lb for yesterday’s purchases and they are ridiculously delicious. Imports from Turkey.

Throughout recent weeks, I have been picking up deep red Washington cherries at $1.67-2.49 a pound in various local grocery stores. That's less than half of the normal price, to have people shop there. There's much to be said for eating seasonally.

Yes, that was one of them. :)
