Dark chocolate salted caramels.
Fried potato scones
My homemade macaroni cheese when I used the cheddar which has smoked garlic through it.
Chocolate (ok, that is probably a little bit general).
Homemade Yorkshire puddings (see earlier thread)
Yorkshire ham
Grass fed Dexter beef.

As we're on scones... Home-made fruit scones (Paul Hollywood's recipe is a winner) with Roddas clotted cream and Tiptree jam.

Bacon is about the only thing universal, though I can't beat a good chicken kiev with mashed potato.

Nutella, beurks.

t' Boerinneke Marino, try that brand.
When I was a kid we had very soft choco spread wrapped in silver paper, needed to be stocked in the fridge like butter, spreads a lot lighter.
Haven't seen any over the last 20 years.
Then we had chocopaste in a chocolate box, once the choco consumed, eat the box, hmmm, delicious, gone these days.

But my wife makes the best Tom Yam Kung on the planet because she exactly knows how I like that soup to be made: spicy red from chili paste, the right dose of coconut cream and milk, limes and kaffir leaves from our garden trees, Thai roots and herbs.
She made one Monday 1st Oct, hours before I left for the airport. I do miss my wife, our 20 months young baby girl and Tom Yam Kung

The only village restaurant makes decent enough Tom Ka Kai, but I never had a real good red curry meal anywhere in Thailand (or massaman curry)

As for cheese, so many delicious cheeses to be found, French, Italian, Dutch, a very long list that would be.

At the Wednesday market in Wavre there is a cheese stall near the church who has St Marcellin, a cheese from a small town on the road from Grenoble to Valence, 2.5 euro each. Tomorrow is Wednesday, thus you will know where to find me

Something you have made yourself in your own well-equipped kitchen, when you've had all the time you needed, choice ingredients you have selected yourself, and the right frame of mind to create a miracle. It happens now and then and--even though I revere the work of accomplished professionals--I can think of little that compares.

The added bonus is that you can account for the freshness, safety, and healthiness of each and every component.

Well phrased, may I add "and when you KNOW someone else is willing to clean up after you eat"?

Leftovers. Particularly something that has soaked in its own juices overnight and is even tastier the next day. Plus it eliminates having to make lunch/dinner the next day which is underrated in and among itself.

Stollen - the stuff you can buy in the UK from supermarkets is nice, the stuff you can get in Germany is absolutely delicious.

Pizza (UK takeaway style tastes nicer than "real" pizza to me though - probably because I'm used to it)
Chunky natural peanut butter (I can't stand the smooth, highly sweetened stuff)
Jacket potatoes
