Full English

My favourite breakfast is and always has been, a full English. I couldn't eat it every day, heck I couldn't eat it more than once a week but there is something so satisfying about it.

Whether it's the meaty Hawksmoor breakfast (below) or the diminutive take on a full English at Pollen Street Social as a starter (photo to follow when I get it off my old Blackberry) in the evening, it's clearly my favourite.

Eggs Benedict, French toast with crispy bacon, waffles or a simple mushroom omelette all come a close second.

Not specific to any one country, but my favorite breakfast is a full brunch at any one of a number of higher-end Asia hotels. Eggs, Dim Sum, fresh juices, coffee/tea, et al. YUMMY!

Brunch in a good hotel in Singapore is always memorable.... wait, does that qualify as BFast...?????

Nice...... I will confess to never have had a Hawksmoor breakfast, but after your post I will make a point of making sure I have one in the not too distant future....

+1

I have had breakfast buffets with a combination of American, English, Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese. Unfortunately, when I return from an Asian business trip, I have somehow "found" an extra 10 or 15 lbs.

Funny..This is my breakfast virtually every morning. Egg white western omelet with a poached egg on top. I thought I was unique lol

I have always loved the German and Swedish breakfasts. I love the open faced sandwiches and bread with jam and cheese!

Wherever Sausage Egg Mc Muffins are served ^

I have a rose-tinted view of the British Army Breakfast in the mess! Elements of a full English (scrambled eggs, toast [fried bread if a particular chef was on], baked beans, stewed or fried tomatoes) as I don't eat meat. They just had it down to a fine art. Less so where breakfast was served 'cafeteria style' but even then it wasn't bad!

Coffee, cigarette and a bad mood! Love it! Hilarious.

Those are my personal favourites too. Including the acquired taste of herring in the morning. ;)

But am also very fond of a Full English/Scottish/Irish on weekends and special occasions or then a traditional Chinese/Japanese/Korean brekkie that have become very familiar during the years.

Btw, that Hawksmoor breakfast pic looks all too delicious...Can't wait to get there now to try. :D

I haven't seen any pho restaurant serving earlier than 10 am.

Herring isn't really a German breakfast staple in most parts, but since North Germany gets lots of Scandinavian tourists, it can be found on most breakfast buffets. I much prefer it to the rather boring farmed salmon.

Breakfast is only served at the new location in the City near Bank. I went during the soft launch with three friends and we've decided to make it into a regular event.

The baked beans with small pieces of pig trotter are truly delicious but it's the HP gravy (HP sauce based gravy) makes a brilliant breakfast, exceptional.
