A bunch of Founder's Breakfast Stout, a growler of AleSmith Speedway Stout, a four pack of Starr Hill Snow Blind Doppelbock, and a 4 pack of Starr Hill Shakedown. And remnants of various other six packs left over from the September beach trip. Starr Hill, while not my favorite brewer, was hosting a tasting at my local beer seller, so the Snow Blind and Shakedown were impulse buys based on my sampling.

Our Costco stores cannot sell liquor.

I paid $16 for a 4-pack. :( Not sure if it's really worth that price. I'd probably buy more often at $12.

Some Foster's and some bottles from a local microbrew/restaurant chain called Brewster's. Their Belgian style white ale is called Farmer's Tan and has become a occasional choice whether meeting friends in the restaurant or for less expensive beer at local liquor stores.

Still have some Founder's Breakfast Stout, and added some Hardywood Gingerbread Ale in 750 ml bottles last weekend. Also have a bunch of random, leftover stuff from the late summer/early fall. I need to have some people over to empty it out so I can start over with some good winter ale and the like.

A Chicago FT/beer friend won the lottery to visit Goose Island recently and buy up to 3 bottles of the Rare version of Bourbon County Stout. Aged in a Pappy 23 barrel I believe.

She bought one for me.

^^ Yum! I was able to taste that one earlier this year and it was fantastic.

Picked up a case of Great Lakes Christmas ale.

whoa whoa whoa! Founders, Great Lakes? Lot of Michigan residents here? I have some Arcadia sky high rye's myself.

However, tonight we will be opening up a bottle each of Trader Joe's Vintage Ale from 2012, 2013, and 2014 (I usually by a case around the holidays).

I have a bunch of Trader Joe beer in my basement from the last few years. It indeed improves over time, but will never be all that great IMO.

Just attended Chicago's Festival of Wood- and Barrel-Aged Beers this weekend. Incredible event, the best in the world, for those who like those styles. It is a must-attend for barrel fans at least once. Tickets go on sale in about August, but literally sell out within 10 seconds. Best strategy is to volunteer for one 4-hour session and then get free admission for another.

Some random Stanley Park 1897 Amber.

kipper Nov 26, 2015 1:35 am

Some sort of pale, fizzy lager... Not my beer fridge though (at my parents' house for a few days).

You know it is bad when you are told, "Let me know about 30 minutes before you want a beer. I'll throw it in the freezer for you. It's not bad if it's almost 'ice-chips' cold."

Yikes, that does not sound pleasant. However, you are not quite up a creek until you actually have NOTHING in your beer fridge, which is my current situation as of 30 minutes ago. :td:
