It has been a holy grail of beer week around here. Scored a case of 3Floyds Zombie Dust to restock the beer closet, and I was able to pick up 2 sixers of 120 Minute IPA from Dogfish when I was in Detroit. Should last until January when they'll start distributing in IN again.

Three Floyds had ZD at the brewery yesterday. I have 7 cases stacked, but may make another run today anyway. Can never have too much ZD.

The stores around here will only sell you one bottle of Dogfish 120, at $10. Of course, if I were a store owner in Detroit, I'd sell everything not nailed down as fast as I could.

Beer joke:

"A microbrew connoisseur walks into the bar, and says to the bartender, "Give me your finest pumpkin ale, but make sure it's not too hoppy."

And then the bartender pulls out a baseball bat and beats him senseless while everyone cheers."

Finally picked up my first Sam Adams winter variety pack of the season. The Cherry Chocolate Bock is FANTASTIC

Grr. If I didn't have a full weekend, I'd drive up from IND. The past 2 drives from Chicago I've stopped in, but they haven't had anything that I can't get in Indy. It's probably a blessing in disguise.

My brother makersmark is on his way to AMS for a business meeting, but also to trade US craft beers, mostly Three Floyds, for mostly Cantillon and Westvleteren. In his 100-pound checked baggage are 52 beers.

You ought to see my basement. Or that of my SFO friend who has been acquiring for 20+ years, and added wine to the hobby. I bet his cellar is worth more than his house.

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog visits the Great American Beer Festival:

Not very safe-for-work.

Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA
Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron
Goose Island Matilda
Lagunitas Czech Pils

But I'm really here to ask for suggestions. A trip to Prague opened my taste buds to Czech pilsners, but I haven't found anything satisfactory in the US yet. The ones I've tried don't have the body and tend to be more astringent than the beers over there. Any suggestions?

Triumph is awesome

Funny, I really just recently got into different beers from coming across a couple on youtube who do beer reviews. Opened my eyes to a lot of the different beers out there. So, currently in my fridge are Banana Bread beer by Wells' brewing company, Purple Haze by Abita and I just had two Pumking by Southern Tier but they didn't last too long ;-)
