Starting to plan late April Belgium trip with some of my beer buds. Thread in Community Buzz.
If I can make a suggestion - stay at the St Bernardus brewery, ride their bikes to St Sixtus. Wonderful area, excellent food in Watou, and of course, beer

Great suggestion; have emailed the proprietress. Looks terrific. They have a good video of the place online. Looks like roughly 50 Euro per person including breakfast and beers!

We loved the property and the staff is super freindly. Cost was great and there's a fridge in the living room full of beer!

LMK if you stay there and I'll make some suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestions! While I didn't make it to Beer Knurd, I stopped a couple times to Freetail Brewery. Great beers and atmosphere!

I was at Zwanze Day at Redlight Redlight in Orlando. Awesome time full of beer geeks.
I knew a few guys at the Chicago tapping, too.

We had the Zwanze and Fou Fone. I cracked my bottle of 3 Fontinen Framboos. Another highlight was an '82 Hannsens Gueuze that somebody brought. Held up perfectly. Plus, a few of the years of Zwanze that were bottled, including the 2008, which was the same beer as 2012.

My first time for Fou’ Foune, a Top 100 beer on BeerAdvocate. Really good, sharp, fresh sour beer. Excellent. Had more than one sample.

Will contact you if we proceed on that. A beer friend from CA went 3 years ago and raves as well. He was the only one there and they made him a full breakfast and let him loose on the fridge.

I'ma big fan of most of their stouts. I usualy keep on hand an assortment of Expedition, Kalamazoo, Double Cream, and sometimes Consecrator DBLBock. Not a fan of the cherry stout though.
