I love the Taro pie in Hong Kong.
|
I was a pretty big fan of the McLobsterRolls at the McDonalds in Maine. Perhaps not as far-out as a lot of the stuff in this thread, but it seemed pretty exotic to this West Coaster!
|
I tried the McArabia and the Chicken Big Mac they were soooo good.
|
I've had the gallo pinto in Costa Rica but its been years. Amusing but no where near as good as mom's!
More recently tried the red bean paste pie in Hong Kong. Pretty good! (Semi related, in HK at the KFC's they have REALLY good egg tarts...) In Israel, checked out what I thought was a McFalafel however, upon further inspection, the "falafel" balls were actually little meat patties! Fail. Did not try it after all. I really don't like Mickey D's however, its fun to see what regional items they put on the menu! Must try order beer next time I'm in Germany! |

I'd try that (meat falafel sounds kind of interesting), but  how on earth could
they get away with that? Best regards, William R. Sanders Online Guest Feedback Coordinator Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide [email protected] |

Hmmm. Sounds more like a take off on kibbee than falafel.

This one sounds good!
The McTurco, sold in Turkey, is 2 burger patties covered in cayenne pepper sauce, and vegetables, and served on a fried pita. |
I had a McBeer once in France just for the novelty. The beer was what you would expect from McD's - adequate, somewhat cheap, far from gourmet. Only had the one then walked to the corner cafe and continued with "real" beverages. :)

Here in Alaska, we've got the McKinley Mac....a Big Mac made with Quarter Pounder patties instead of the little ones used in Texas.:D

What Texan goes to McDonalds anyway?!
If I were a bettin' man, I wouldn't hesitate to lay money that Mickey D's had no small part in that. ;) |

Hello FTers,
Here's my experience with Mickey Dees: 1. In New Zealand, I ordered a "Kiwi Burger." How bad could it be? Well, it came with a cold beet that dripped its juice through the lettuce to the burger. ewwwww!!!!! I hate hot beets, and cold beets even worse! David |
