I love the Taro pie in Hong Kong.

I was a pretty big fan of the McLobsterRolls at the McDonalds in Maine. Perhaps not as far-out as a lot of the stuff in this thread, but it seemed pretty exotic to this West Coaster!

I tried the McArabia and the Chicken Big Mac they were soooo good.

I've had the gallo pinto in Costa Rica but its been years. Amusing but no where near as good as mom's!

More recently tried the red bean paste pie in Hong Kong. Pretty good! (Semi related, in HK at the KFC's they have REALLY good egg tarts...)

In Israel, checked out what I thought was a McFalafel however, upon further inspection, the "falafel" balls were actually little meat patties! Fail. Did not try it after all.

I really don't like Mickey D's however, its fun to see what regional items they put on the menu! Must try order beer next time I'm in Germany!

I'd try that (meat falafel sounds kind of interesting), but :eek: how on earth could
they get away with that?

Hmmm. Sounds more like a take off on kibbee than falafel.

Maybe. I didn't actually order it. From afar it looked like falafel but when you saw the photo, there were definitely "grill marks" on the patties! All meat at McD's is kosher, however this particular location was not a fully kosher restaurant.

I had a McBeer once in France just for the novelty. The beer was what you would expect from McD's - adequate, somewhat cheap, far from gourmet. Only had the one then walked to the corner cafe and continued with "real" beverages. :)

Here in Alaska, we've got the McKinley Mac....a Big Mac made with Quarter Pounder patties instead of the little ones used in Texas.:D

You know, if you cut a McKinley Mac in half, a Big Mac'd be the third largest burger... :p

If I were a bettin' man, I wouldn't hesitate to lay money that Mickey D's had no small part in that. ;)

Actually I eat at McDonalds more often in HK than I do in Toronto and I have homes in both places. Same goes for KFC. KFC in particular taste better in HK than in NA from my perspective.

Australia has something similar called the McOz. I went to 3 McDonalds when I was in Sydney a couple years ago and only 1 actually had the beetroot in stock to make the McOz. I actually didn't notice it as much as I thought since I shy away from beets in the US but figured I had to give the McOz a try.
