the chicken Big Mac is actually not that bad, here in Dubai. who knows if it's healthier than the beef version.

The Veggie Surprise in India is delicious, but I'm sure as unhealthy as a burger in the US.

Same burger (I'm pretty sure same name) is available in Dubai. And I'd be willing to guess that it was less healthy than a normal hamburger, since it is deep fried.

Completely OT, but the BK Veggie at Burger King in the US (assuming they still sell those) is (IMO) the best fast food veggie burger, since BK uses yummy yummy Morningstar Grillers for them! :) Though that being said, the Bean Royale that they have in Dubai (and I think India) is pretty tasty (better than the McD Veggie Surprise).

I'm lovin this thread

I love visiting McDonald's when I'm traveling (plus they have free toilets, which is a rarity in most of Europe). England and Italy definitely have the best McFlurry combinations: caramel cadbury flake in London and chocolate brownie in Rome. Spain had dollar menu gazpacho which was surprisingly good and (gasp) healthy. It was funny to watch fathers take their kids in to get ice cream and come out with a plastic cup of beer for themselves. Israel has kosher McDonalds, but I'm not sure how they did a cheeseburger, since I stuck to the chicken.

Also what I've found hilarious is promoting exotic 'global' flavors at McDs. In London in 2008 they had a whole Americana burger promotion: a different American burger (East coast, Tex Mex, etc) every month for 4 months. Italy was advertising a Greek sandwich in a pita with tzatziki sauce. I can't remember what Budapest had, although I know they had some local thing, too...

When I travel internationally I like to do a few things to compare country to country. Have a Coca-Cola, eat ice cream, and order something at McDonald's that they don't have in the US.

Florance IT - Italian chicken sandwich, great
Toronto CA - Double beef Big Mac, exactly what you'd expect
Madrid ES - Great chicken sandwich, no idea what it was called
Munich DE - Cup of salad as a side with my McRib value meal
Budapest HU - McD's was the hip spot in town, normal looking menu
All over Europe - local beer ^

ANY real Aussie hamburger comes with beetroot!!!^:D

Standard burger (in a decent place) would be meat pattie, lettuce, tomato, beetroot, onion, sauce.

A "Hamburger with the lot" would have most/all the following added... Egg, Bacon, Cheese, pineapple......()

The current "fancy" Mc'd's offering Down Under is the "Angus Burger"...

"100% Angus Beef....."

I nly eat their breakfasts so I can't tell you if it's any good....;)

When I went to Cairo I had a McArabia. I could go for one of those right now. The last country I had McDonalds was in Peru. Big Mac and Inca Cola, YUMMM. But only one sip, Inca Cola is too sweet.

I just came back from Spain and they had a premium hamburger called Le Mac and a premium chicken sandwich with bacon and onions called the CBO.

Here in Germany we have the Big Tasty. That is a huge burger with lettuce, tomato, onions, cheese, bacon and a smokey flavourd sauce.

Right now they have a winter special called McRösti. It has a fried potato pancake on top of the meet.

Also in Germany I remember the last time I was there a few months ago, they had on their breakfast menu a warm tortilla with melted cheese and bacon crumbles inside, it was very good and inexpensive

I've had the McWings, which I believe were labeled McPollo. They were neither good nor bad.
