Somewhat related: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/dinin...offerings.html

Obviously, I am familiar with the McDonald's Saimin and the Hawaiian Breakfast (Portuguese Sausage, Eggs, and Rice).

The Veggie Surprise in India is delicious, but I'm sure as unhealthy as a burger in the US.

Hello FTers,

Here's my experience with Mickey Dees:

1. In New Zealand, I ordered a "Kiwi Burger." How bad could it be? Well, it came with a cold beet that dripped its juice through the lettuce to the burger. ewwwww!!!!! I hate hot beets, and cold beets even worse!

2. Paris... 2001... the special meals come with a big burger PLUS fries PLUS a McShaker salad!

The Ham/Cheese burger (breakfast item) is quite good in Hong Kong. ^

My brother in YUL was a big fan of the McPizza... The poutine looks a bit nasty when they serve it. The thin cut juliette fries are not right for poutine anyways.

Never had the McLobster.

In Hong Kong, a girl seated across from me was eating the Sausage and Egg Twisty Pasta breakfast. I swear it looked like the Sausage McMuffin fell into her veggie soup.

I can get poutine at McDonald's? I had no idea. I used to love the freshly brewed iced tea with lemon slices and syrup in a little container on the side that they had at McDonald's in HK. Oh, and the green apple iced cream cone.

I'd like to try most of those!

Starting to look like sampling local cuisine might include a trip to McDonalds... :p

I became addicted to Filet O Fish in Tokyo for breakfast. Much higher quality than anything in the US.

redbeard911 Nov 8, 2009 2:55 pm

My favorite is still the fish nuggets in HK circa 2003-4.

Really?? McDonalds?? To each their own I suppose, but when I travel overseas I stay as far away from anything that is a chain and US owned as I can! (especially McD's!...well, I dont go there when I am home either)
